Is Goblins viable in EDH?

I saw a foil Goblin Matron and really loved the card. Before I cop up the cash I'm thinking maybe I could make an EDH deck out of it. Certainly appears playable to me. I'm not much of an EDH player. I always see others play it but never really get involved. Might be good to have a deck as a starting point though...
Krenko, Mob Boss Is definitely a fun, fast, and enjoyable deck. With having a lot of Haste enablers, you can build a horde of tokens and basically kill with a critical mass of creatures. A pretty good synergy has Ogre Battledriver give the Kreno tokens Haste and the power buffs. There's plenty of Goblin Lords, and maybe if you're filthy rich, buy a Gauntlet of Might. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
+
Zealous Conscripts
for an infinite combo, etc.
Usually falls flat to board wipes, similar to Ezuri, Renegade Leader elves. Both decks are fast and fun, though.

There's also the possibility of any tri color or duel color edh goblin deck. Remember: although the commander might not be a goblin, it can still be goblins. Ideally a mix of tactics like counter/burn goblins for UR or kill with a goblin basis for red. But if you do a two or three color deck, there are two combos to remember: Krenko, Mob Boss + Xenograft and Conspiracy + Krenko, Mob Boss . These two combos do the same thing: no matter what creatures you have, you can make many goblins.

Here is a list I enjoy, there are a few of infinite combos that make it relatively viable in a multiplayer setting. Usually you're not the one to win, but you take out 1-2 people.

Also possible commanders for Goblin Tribal include Shattergang Brothers, Wort, Boggart Auntie, Squee, Goblin Nabob, Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician, Zo-Zu the Punisher, Grenzo, Dungeon Warden and Wort, the Raidmother if you wanna be straight Goblin commanders. But other workable commanders with Goblins include Prossh, Skyraider of Kher, Patron of the Akki and Purphoros, God of the Forge work incredibly well too. Also thraximunder or Thromok the Insatiable if your using the goblins as sacrificial pawns with lots of sac outlets. Hell, I use goblins in a Keranos, God of Storms deck and it works great cause it gives me hella chump blockers while I use mana on things other than creatures. And all of those are pretty viable, if not fun as hell commanders.

Essentially you can use Goblin tokens in edh. It's an extremely viable way to buff up a deck, whether as a source of damage or just chump blockers. If you want a suggestion, try making it very based on beefing your creatures up each turn and swinging for the full 40 at some point. I'd think it'd also be viable in RGW with Gahiji, Honored One as a commander so that those goblins swing hard or use Wort, the Raidmother as a way to cheaply play burn spells for almost no mana. (For example, using your goblins to play this combo Blasphemous Act + Wrap in Vigor for free)

Yes, goblins are undoubtedly viable in EDH! I have a list that may be of some use to you.

If you want just combo, I'd argue that mono-red goblins isn't really where you want to be. I've been having a ton of fun with the deck, and it has a very high win rate as well.

MagicalHacker - Krenko, Mob Boss, MagicalHacker - Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician, and MagicalHacker - Wort, Boggart Auntie are the three decks I would recommend looking at if you're interested in goblin tribal. Beyond those, there are few I would recommend.

I play regularly against a goblin deck that uses Purphoros, God of the Forge as a commander and I will say, that deck is hard as hell to beat, because it's fast. Everybody does gang up on the guy when he plays it, so keep in mind you'll get a lot of hate right out the gate.

Goblins get along marvelously well in EDH. The playgroups you encounter are very, very meta oriented unlike other formats. One format will be boardwipe heavy, another, discard heavy, one token heavy and one is in that sweet spot where you have an equal amount of every color mixed in.
Yeah, Goblins do well. Make sure to be able to recover QUICK though following boardwipe.

In my meta there is a really fun Wort, Boggart Auntie deck and another really competitive Wort, the Raidmother-deck. The first tutors for Gempalm Incinerator (i.e. with Goblin Matron) for board control, creates a bunch of tokens and is a really fun budget build. The latter is (or was at least) a highly competitive 1v1 deck, and does great in multiplayer even though some of the most expensive cards have been removed. Decklist here. Recommend both as generals, they're lots of fun, but which depends on if you want to splash black or green.

Tribal goblins with Purphoros, God of the Forge leading the way is just disturbing by the amount of damage you do. Krenko, Mob Boss is another option but these 2 cards pretty much turns the game into a 4 turn timer if you start with nothing else on the board.... and if you can find a sac outlet + Thornbite Staff + Krenko, Mob Boss you just win at that point. granted it is 4 cards you need on the table but its funny as hell when you attach Thornbite Staff to Krenko, Mob Boss and just say "I win".

If you do, go French. Aggro is hard as hell to do in multiplayer
