Glacial Chasm Combos that may git my EDH deck.
Can anybody think of the best way to break this card?

I use Glacial Chasm in my Morinfen Commander Nightmares coming true to have a permanent fog and to lose life in a controlled way so I can kill my opponent with Mirror Universe (or similar cards) combined with cards like Exsanguinate or simple creature damage.

omg Glacial Chasm is a scary card.. Although I do like it for its creative concept..... **cumulative * upkeep 2 life?? Wtf??? If it was 2 life each turn... Ok, but 2, 4, 6....that's 12 after 3 turns. What MAY work are things like Lich but mtg did change the rules to make it non token permanents..... So 12 permanents may be a tad challenging. I like the mirror idea :) I don't remember the name, but there is an artifact that can tap to sacrifice a creature,in exchange for gaining life equal to toughness. Also look for things - if any that exchange control of lands. For something crazy complex, use something that makes all your lands swamps, then something that turns swamps into creatures (an artifact does this) then exchange control of the "creature"

Why should you give your opponent control of Glacial Chasm ?
He just won't pay them cumulative cost and send it to your graveyard. And combining all this with a Mindslaver seems to be a bit too big of a combo to really get it out in a EDH game.
However my Morinfen EDH likes loosing life. Either he makes you loose life or you make yourself loose life. I'm fine with both. :-D

The idea took some time and help to grow but is quite simple. The deck is stuffed with tutors so I can get out Mirror Universe , Magus of the Mirror , or Soul Conduit quite easy. If I don't get to fill my board for some reasons I just take the damage while I try to get something out and at the moment I have only few lifes left I trade life with my opponent and kill him with something like Consume Spirit . But that's only 1 way to win. with Lashwrithe and similar things I can manage to pump morinfen up real quick to deal commander damage for the kill. Cards like Fireshrieker boost this strategy further and Hatred is good for both ways to win allowing me to kill 2 opponents in 1 turn if I get the cards needed for it. Glacial Chasm and Eon Hub stop mostly everything threatening me and give me time to gather my mana to simply kill with something like Consume Spirit (and yes the deck can get a lot of mana fast and of course I have all cards equal to Consume Spirit in there I could think of). In addition I have cards that allow me to remove counters since cumulative upkeep works with counters if you look at the rulings so Hex Parasite , Vampire Hexmage and AEther Snap help me to keep the cumulative costs low. Since they're in the deck I added Dark Depths as another nearly win con. And last but not least I've got enough mana to push out a lot of destroy cards and big creatures to finish with simple non-commander damage.
Visara the Dreadful is one of those permanent "destroy-spells" and helps me to keep my opponents down while Mikaeus, the Unhallowed keeps me up after mass destruction while simply evil cards like Phyrexian Obliterator wreak havoc among my opponents and their lives just to give some examples.
Further things can be seen if looked at the deck: Nightmares coming true
I could need some ideas to make it more evil and what to cut out again to get to 99 cards. (I put in more lands then needed to let it still work with 118 cards, so I can test it to find out what is not needed)

Thanks.
I had a lot of help creating this nightmare of a deck.
At first most people I knew (including my girlfriend) said that it could never work. (after seeing it in action she says that it should never have worked XD)
It's a bit dangerous to play sometimes but a lot of fun too.
Feel free to take from it whatever you want.

I just realized..min one said this yet. Gauntlets of Chaos essentially.....echanges control of lands.....that could be scary, giving your opponent a death land...

@ Dreadwhite509: Why should it be scary if you opponent could just choose not to pay the upkeep cost?

The only thing I can think of is Eon Hub .
Glacial Chasm doesn't really lend itself to combos.
