Riku of two reflections commander
Commander Deck Help forum

Hello,
I've recently gotten into commander. I've built a deck with the cards available to me with Riku of Two Reflections as the commander. Other staple cards I have for this deck are:
What sort of strategies should I use with Riku being a commander. Should I be focusing more so on duplicating creatures or other spells? Do the other cards I've listed work well with Riku, or should I focus on solely building around Riku's ability? What are some cards I should look into for a red green blue EDH deck with Riku as the commander?
All comments thoughts and suggestions are more than welcome, thank you all very much.

If it's in your budget, Palinchron is pretty good with Riku. Just make infinite tokens with flying.

Thank you for the input! I've since added my deck to my profile to get a better perspective. I'm fairly open to spending money over time on this deck, so all suggestion, even pricier ones are welcomed

But peregrine drake doesn’t make infinite tokens with Riku, palinchron does. So it’s not really a budget replacement here since it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do

For my Riku build I wanted to focus on including cards that can work with his abilities as much as possible. So even though signets are generally considered premium ramp in EDH, I suggest using ramp cards like Rampant Growth and Cultivate instead because you can copy them. Except Sol Ring, its too busted to omit even though its an artifact. Also cheap cantrips like Brainstorm and Serum Visions are easily copied because of their low mana costs, making them great includes.
My main Riku plan in my build is Polymorphing tokens for fun and profit. Riku is so cool because he basically combos with almost anything and he's in good colors.
Aminatou's Augury is an MVP for me too, its just so much value that it's hard to over state its power here.
My deck:
Indomitable Shifting Synthetic Proteus Polymorph!!

Riku's a cool commander in that any creature, instant and sorcery that you like is probably on theme. As long as you have a good curve Riku's just solid.
He's just cool, and you really can't go wrong if you stick to instants, sorceries, creatures and lands. Plus a couple enchantments and artifacts for the absolute best ones.

In the past I built a Riku deck centered around using his abilities and getting him out as fast as possible. An important note on Riku is that he is a mana HUNGRY commander. He will absolutely annihilate your mana economy in a single turn leaving very little left to use for Instants. I would say work on the mana base and definitely get some mana dorks and mana generators in the deck. Once that is setup you'll be flying high.
Another thing to consider is if the deck does well (it most likely will) be prepared for people to target the absolute hell out of riku when he hits the field or is cast.
Riku is 5 CMC, if you want to use him immediately while everyone else is down both of his abilities are 3 mana, so off the bat, you are looking at an 8cmc investment on a single turn, not to mention the colored mana requirements. Lets say you want to cast a 3 cmc creature and duplicate it in total that round you are spending 11 mana.
The creature being a 3 cmc being copied for 3 cmc is silly and feels wasted also so naturally you are going to want to copy a creature at a higher CMC. The exception is when you copy cards like Selvala, Heart of the Wilds where it doesn't matter that she is 3 cmc because her actual value on the battlefield is just that much greater.
