Looking for ideas on a new general.

I'm looking for a somewhat out-of-the-box general (preferably mono or dual colored) that is fun, perhaps somewhat competitive, and isn't going to necessarily break the bank. I have most staples like Gauntlet of Power/Caged Sun, Akroma's Memorial, Eldrazi Monument, Coat of Arms, the various mana rocks of all assortments, Wheel of Fortune, and a hodgepodge of other random staples. So don't be afraid of suggesting cards that are in the $10-15 range because I might have those. I also have a bit left in trade and I'm contemplating melting my Rhys the Redeemed deck since it just never sees play and I've done the aggro strategy to death. My biggest threats or decks that have given me problems at the LGS so far are Mizzix and Zedruu. Not that I want to build a deck that will fair well against them necessarily.
So far I've been eyeing Horobi, Death's Wail which looks amusing. Though I'm sure this will draw the ire of the table. I kind of like the -1/-1 counter theme I've seen played with it as well as the reanimator package that's typically included. My only worries is with the new Golgari commanders hitting the board like Meren of Clan Nel Toth this may backfire. Then again I could just steal their threats as well :p
Thada Adel, Acquisitor is another idea I had. Blue is plentiful in both my meta and the LGS so her ability will be easy to pull off. My only worry is the constant searching might anger some people and the support she needs might not be on the cheap. Still, sounds hilarious to run. (I had a Talrand deck, but that has since been retired).
I've thought about Kaseto, Orochi Archmage snake tribal simply because I used to run a Seshiro the Anointed snake deck that was fun. The blue gives the extra draw and protection that green lacked. I also still have most of the snakes needed for it. Thing is, I run an Edric, Spymaster of Trest deck I just assembled and it essentially runs exactly the same: unblockable creatures that draw you cards.
Aside from those I'm unsure, that's where I need you guys :p

If you're thinking of a theft themed deck I would suggest actually going U/B since you can also steal from graveyards and the library manipulation works well with those colours as well.

I would roll Lazav, Dimir Mastermind if it weren't for my buddy already in the process of making one. So aside from him there's Wrexial, the Risen Deep which steals instants and sorceries from a gy. However that 6 cmc is a bit steep. He does have a beefy body though and evasion. Most other dimir generals are mill based which I'm not necessarily going for (I do realize that stealing from gy's is a thing). I just thought Thada was a little outside the box so to speak

There's Sygg too but he would be there simply for color :/ well, and card draw I suppose.

Vhati il-Dal is another general that could work with the -1/-1 theme that I liked with Horobi. Granted with Horobi the counters were more of a back-up plan or just a way to destroy creatures. With Vhati il-Dal I can include Horobi as part of the 99 and my general would act as removal on a stick. Plus the deck would be less focused on the general with Night of Souls' Betrayal type effects running amok. I think that would make it produce the same kind of results as Horobi would, but not nearly as susceptible to disruption.

Vhati il-Dal could also work with infect... Another one I was looking at was Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker but fear that is all too dependent on the general. Figure if you load up on stax/discard effects it may operate fine without him.

Think I'm leaning towards a thieving themed Thada Adel, Acquisitor.
