My first child is being born today, 6 weeks early. Pre eclampsia be like that. Because we thought we had more time, we had not yet settled on a name. TypicalTimmy said I should, "Let the community decide." I am beyond stressed out and could use some comic relief. Hit me with some names. Knock yourselves out. Be as serious or silly as you want.

Jace. It's one of the more "normal" MTG names and actually sounds quite nice.

Rhystic, it will cause utter confusion later when they sit at a commander table and someone plays Rhystic Study and if naming you kid after a potential future pun isn't love, i don't know what is.

I feel like since he's coming early we need the name of a card that has both flash and haste. But I'm drawing a total blank

I personally know a guy named Gideon and a guy named Jace. They’re both decent fellas.

If you name your child "Tronplayer" then they will not be admitted into most public spaces, by the ordinances of 45 states.
More seriously, reflect upon who has been most important in your life (whether you know them personally or not), and at least consider giving your child their name as a middle name.
Or--make something up that sounds nice. Pretend you're designing a new legendary creature, and you have to come up with a name for them.

The following is intended to be humorous.
Possible options (first and middle): Timmy Powers, Johnny Newcombe, or Spike Jones.
Timmy power(s) gamer, but also a reference to the author, Tim Powers.
Johnny (new)combo player, but also a reference to John Newcombe, a former Tennis Player.
Spike, Jones(ing for a win). Referinging to the musician, Spike Jones.

As a parent of two, please, name him something at least vaguely normal. Lol

If you want a nice name that has ties to magic, might I recommend the gender neutral name used by Admiral Beckett Brass ? Beckett is a cool name and it stands out.

Congratulations on your Son! I'm pulling for him.
You should name him Kano.
On a side note, the only legendary creature card with both flash and haste is Samut, Voice of Dissent.

The owner of my LGS has a granddaughter named Nissa, who was joined by a Jace in daycare. Magic names are creeping up in popularity.
I personally like Gideon as a boy's name that is both MtG related and, as Grubbernaut suggested, at least vaguely normal ^^'

My son hath been named! Sorry, but I did not take a name from amongst these beautiful suggestions. His name however, did just appear in The Witch of the Woods story article. His name shall henceforth be Finneas!

EleshNornsFs, congratulations on the birth of your child, but may I ask why you are asking strangers online for suggestions for names for the child? Does your spouse approve of that?

DemonDragonJ As I mentioned in the post, we had not picked out a name and we were getting a little desperate. I also knew that strangers online would throw out some funny ideas, and I needed a good laugh. As for the second question, I can't imagine why I would need spousal approval to have people spitball some names. Is it any different than looking up lists of popular baby names online?
