I have played a mono B Zombie tribal in Modern for a while now but recently it has been gathering dust at the back of my deck box pile.

I decided to spice it up a bit and add some other dynamics other than smash with lord-ed up Zombies!

I have the cards on order anyway to build what I have here, but any suggestions are welcome and will be noted.

Amazingly still no sign of my Gravecrawlers turning up!

I got to play the deck once in a casual four way two-headed giant game last Thursday. Our team won which is always a good sign! I am really pleased with how the deck performed, especially the new found versatility from adding Blue.

I found myself with the usual substantial field of Zombies, all getting bonuses from each other and keeping my opponents at bay due to deathtouch. When it came to crunch time, Lich Lord of Unx disposed of one opponents and swiftly found himself destroyed by a remaining team. I had bought enough time to play Grimgrin, Corpse-Born, my only current sac engine within the deck. Coupled with the Diregraf Captain I had in play, I was able to attack, mill the enemy for many cards with Undead Alchemist and chuck lots of Zombie tokens in play to sac for 1 life a go after combat. I was also able to sac my non-token creatures and get them back with a counter due to Mikaeus, the Unhallowed The final turn left me with less of a field but one huge Grimgrin to smash with.

Moving on, I will certainly be looking to add an extra Lich Lord or two. Also I cannot rely on only one sac engine, but Zombies are spoilt for choice when it comes to creatures with a sac ability that buffs them up for a harder hit.
