Jedijwk's Untap Tournament (Seems Terminated) —Aug. 2, 2015

Tournament Match Record (1-1); Tournament Game Record (2-3)

Overall Match Record (36-12-3); Overall Game Record (80-43-4)

Game 1 Skullman571's GW Humans (2-1)

Game 1 was dominated by Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. Holding off the 2 Repeals I had in hand, she allowed her army to grow behind her and kill me before the Oblivion Stone in my hand could even hit the field.

I sided in Hibernation, AEtherize, and 2 Dismember for 4 Repeal. I was able to Condescend an early Thalia, which swung tempo in my direction as I got to scry before my T3. I used a Thirst for Knowledge at the end of his T3 to dig, throwing out an Oblivion Stone in favor of playing either Platinum Angel or Wurmcoil Engine in a couple turns. He played a second Thalia next turn, which I immediately Dismembered, going to 13 life. I Mapped into Tron next turn and cast Wurmcoil Engine, which effectively stopped all attacks from the opposite side. On my next turn, he auto-scooped to Ugin, the Spirit Dragon.

In Game 3, I kept a hand with an Island, two Urza's Mines, and an Urza's Power Plant backed with an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon and an Expedition Mapfoil. I figured that if Ugin caused an autoscoop from him in the first game, he could do so again. I went T1 Expedition Mapfoil. I showed Urza's Power Plant on T2 and cracked the Map on his end step. T3 gave me Tron, and his T4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. A second Mine came down on my T4 to cast Ugin, the Spirit Dragon despite Thalia. We went a couple of turns before he scooped. (I was saddened by this because I could have ulted Ugin to go for the lock here, but Ugin was a fine win, nonetheless.)

Game 2 GlistenerAgent's Grixis Twin (0-2)

I seemed to simply never have an answer in either game. My counterspells were easily dealt with with Dispel, and he had enough pressure to kill me before I could really do much. My focus was stopping the combo from happening, but this allowed the midrange of it to simply wipe me out.
