no, it only spouts out mana on the third time, after that it's the 4th time, not the 1st

Its only the third time per turn...

What I mean is pay 2+2+2= 6 then he gives you 8 mana and with that 8 you plug 6 of it back into Soulbright Flamekin netting you 2 each time.

the new Mizzium Mortars seems like a good addition to this deck. Also (especially with Furnace of Rath in there), maybe Heartless Hidetsugu would be fun to play with? It kills anyone on an even lifecount, and you can ping the ones that are left at 1 if they start on an odd amount of life. Should be gg's ;)

Oh and sorry about the double post, but Shattering Pulse > Shatter in EDH games imo. (or Smash to Smithereens and Smelt are both better options, but the Pulse is where it's at for EDH)

Making a Rakdos deck around a ping-commander, I came across a couple of other goodies besides Basilisk Collar and Gorgon Flail .

Quietus Spike gives deathtouch too (3rd / 3 DT equipments) and a monstrous combat dmg ability, and Sword of Kaldra exiles on ping! A little harder to cast, but might still be worth it in the lategame.
