Thanks! I had Negate because I wasn't really worried about what they were going to throw down creature-wise. But Dissolve makes be "better safe than sorry" right?

Naturalize might be a better chouce than reclamation sage, but since you dont run any enchantments Back to Nature is amazing
March 8, 2015 5:27 p.m.
Hah! :-) Back to Nature might not be a bad idea... but it'd definitely be situational with Courser.
What do you think of Unravel the Aether instead of Naturalize? Hits gods, but just delays their utility rather than destroying...
I will admit that an additional benefit to Reclamation Sage is its innate "two-for-oneness", and it can lower my CMC curve against super speedy aggro decks in a pinch.

I run one of these decks. I have top 4'd the last month and split with 50+ players in the tournaments. I just run big stuff and if possible "combo off". I do this by playing genesis hydra or hornet queen and bouncing with temur sabertooth. Then just recast and repeat. Prophet let's you do this on their turn and I can hit a hornet queen 4+ times per turn by ramp and nykthos. I also run 4 frontier siege for the khans effect, which is a game changer.

I think 4 whisperwood is to many personally I run 3 in abzan midrange and I almost want to cut to 2 and with all the devotion why not run genesis hydra ? You would have so much to hit off of it..
March 31, 2015 3 a.m.
The main reason I haven't put in the Genesis Hydra is the cost. This build is heavy devotion, but not FULL devotion, so it isn't full ramp. A 2-2 split might be worth looking at though...

I run simic morph, UB Mighty Morphin Power Creatures, and it seems that we're running a lot of the same cards. I like my deck because I like a themed feel, but if I had to suggest a single card Trail of Mystery fills your two drop spot and works with so many of your creatures. With 33 Creatures, Cloudform also creates the potential for some heavy hitters in the air.

I tried Trail of Mystery for a few iterations of this deck and it just doesn't do what I want.
The goal of this deck is to be truly "Midrange". Fast enough to beat down control and stabilize against aggro, but slow enough to win the long game against decks that aren't looking that far ahead.
To that end, the cards currently in the 2-drop spot play a pivot role pretty well. Aggro early, or control-y/ramp effects aiming for a later game. Trail of Mystery definitely works if I'm going full morph/flip, but I'm really only using them as curve-filling pivot points instead of a main strategy... If that makes any sense...?

You need prophet of kruphix in here. Card is way underrated. I use a simic midrange deck and am taking it to state championships Saturday. I went more combo with genisis hydra/temur sabretooth and hornet queen/ts. Temur sabertooth is great against control and will bounce cards you didn't want to manifest. I would recommend at least 3 nykthos and caryatids over rattleclaw just because of all the burn in the meta. I would also drop 3 prog sphinx for 2 Nissa and an ugin. I also like the 2/2 split between surrak, hunt caller and polyk. I can post a decklist if you want

BTW I would take out boon satyr. Way too easy to burn and I see no way of dealing with red/green aggro maindeck. Storm breath and atarka will tear this up. I reccomend two hornet queen and possible two arbor collosus main, depending on how big that deck is near where you live

What do you think about Courser of Kruphix replacing Boon Satyr, and Icefall Regent replacing Prognostic Sphinx to deal with the two threats you just mentioned?
April 25, 2015 6:37 p.m.
Don't sleep on Boon Satyr.. He can be very effective with pushing through extra damage. Icefall Regent over Prognostic Sphinx seems like a good trade.
May 21, 2015 10:52 p.m.
Yeah... Icefall Regent is also resilient... more damage, AND pseudo removal... though it is vulnerable to Elspeth.

Get some card draw in here and add some Horizon Chimera. Maybe Treasure Cruise and Secret Plans? I also agree with Surrak, the Hunt Caller and Icefall Regent. I hold Heir of the Wilds in highest esteem as well. Love Simic, +1

Hey this looks a lot like my list, Irresistible. Whisperwood and Sphinx are extremely powerful. With them around you don't need card draw. Icefall Regent is certainly a good card, more aggressive but not necessarily better than Sphinx. Boon Satyr is a good card but you lack the combo with Den Protector. Hint: "7/4 unblockable" is good.

lajube?! It's DrSniffles! Thanks for the help! I like your list. I've actually shifted my IRL deck to something very close (except for my playset of Kiora of course, that I kept ;-P) I'll update this for better discussion.
June 20, 2015 8:31 p.m.
Heh. I'm super pro at anagrams ;-P.
So I updated the list and basically need to figure out how to put Boon Satyr back in. And I will not accept "Cut Kiora". :-P
June 20, 2015 9:07 p.m.
-2 Courser, +2 Boon Satyr. Or any other change. I think 2 is enough in most matches.
June 20, 2015 11:04 p.m.
Gotcha. Thanks! :-). What are your thoughts on Rattleclaw v. Caryatid?
June 21, 2015 7:01 a.m.
If you play Deathmist, go Rattleclaw 100%. Otherwise Caryatid is probably better.

I would say Dissolve at least on your sideboard. Other then that it's pretty solid.
