This is a Modern Merfolk deck. Mostly Blue with a splash of White, it takes the usual aggressive approach. This floods the field with fishies, pumps them up and gives them islandwalk, while maintaining quite a synergistic counterspell arsenal.

MEET THE MERFOLK:

Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident are a given in any Merfolk deck. +1/+1's and Islandwalk for all other Merrow ASWELL as a 2/2 creature with a CMC of TWO! There is a reason they are staples of any fish diet. Because they ROCK!

Merfolk Sovereign is similar to the above mentioned Merrow but just different enough. Giving all other Merfolk +1/+1 and reserving an avenue to unblockability independent of my efforts at Islandwalk.

Stonybrook Schoolmaster pumps out fishies.

Lullmage Mentor counters spells and produces merfolk.

Grimoire Thief is a fun means to counter spells AND exile cards!

Merrow Reejerey piles another +1/+1 onto his fellow Merfolk and works in tandem with the Schoolmasters, to dish out fish, and with the Theives, to counter spells.

Stonybrook Banneret has Islandwalk and makes this fast paced deck even FASTER.

Oh, beloved Wanderwine Prophets. If you weren't a goner before them, you will be after them. Once you secure an extra turn, the game is yours!

OTHER SPELLS:

I have Spell Rupture and Remand as counter spells. (The extra draw the later allows is a great bonus.)

Apostle's Blessing is great protection in a tight spot.

And Summon the School is a way to continuously produce merfolk.

ON THE SIDE:

Aquitect's Will and Spreading Seas insures Islandwalk is utilizable.
