How casual is your environment? In most environments, cards like Iona, Shield of Emeria don't see play because they kill those environments. If your environment is more competitive, I'm surprised more people don't play cards like Iona.

My meta is competitive. The LGS hosts a Commander League with store credit as prizes. A good majority of the decks in my meta are multicoloured goodstuff, although they mostly use what they have or can trade for and don't usually sculpt extremely optimal builds. I believe the Commander League's point system punishes ultra fast wins, but I can't remember.

The only deck that I know runs Iona, Shield of Emeria is the LGS owner's Captain Sisay deck, but I haven't seen that deck in a long while. I have yet to see the three local Kaalia of the Vast players use Iona and I'm absolutely sure one of them doesn't have it.

Have you thought about Maze of Ith or is that not a land you would want in this deck? It doesn't tap for mana but certainly protects you from attacking creatures. Karakas would also mess with your opponents but its very pricey.

The "Maybeboard" contains cards I'm considering and are not included in the deck.

I keep Eight-and-a-Half-Tails out of the decklist because he's already represented in the deck under the "General" header.

Why does this have Snow-Covered Plains? I'm lost.

To prevent other players from gaining advantage from Extraplanar Lens . Also, because the art on snow lands are pretty badass.

I can go with that. I'd recommend Strata Scythe . This equipment can wreck anything in a mono-colored deck.

Snow basics also allow the use of Scrying Sheets and Mouth of Ronom .

Strata Scythe is somewhat inconsistent in my deck due to the fact that almost half of the landbase is composed of nonbasics.

You could always throw in 1-2 Plains just to have something to exile lol.

Oh... most of mine in my mono red is as well but they're just regulars, so I can feed off of others.

I can see you've shot down Auras, however I must agree with another suggestion to add Eldrazi Conscription . It's colorless, thus won't fall off. And it's badass.

It also eats up 8 mana and can't be cheated out, not to mention some people like to stick to themes.... Just saying.

I understand. You do have Argentum Armor amongst some other really cool equipment. There's a quest/enchantment that I can't recal ATM, may be useful...

Quest for the Holy Relic is slow and IIRC OP has already discussed that one concluding that the lack of creatures makes the quest too slow to operate.

NensouHiebara Have you seen some of the Theros spoilers? They have at least one that is an Enchantment/Artifact. I'm curious if they will have an equipment that is similar?
