First Major Balance update! —April 2, 2022

Hello! Its the first major update for this deck, and I for one am very happy about the results, I think i leaned too hard into the glass cannon build of this deck, and thus I have been excited about the changes and how the deck has been performing!

Mana Confluence , City of Brass ------------------------------> Reflecting Pool , Haven of the Spirit Dragon:

Changed out pain lands for other rainbow lands... I have not had issues with color fixing, so I am happy to include these lands.

Primevals' Glorious Rebirth, Mirari's Wake -----------------------> Skyshroud Claim, Cursed Mirror:

I needed far more ramp then I previously had, and these spells are going to smooth that shit right out. Its been making the deck far more consistent and makes the plays a lot smoother. So, we stay!

Iymrith, Desert Doom --------------------> Kindred Discovery:

Honestly, Dragons are dope but I need a more consistent Draw engine and this is one of the better ones. Thus, Its been a pretty damn good change, as it nets me cards for Dragons ETB AND attacking.

Skyline Despot -----------------------> Atsushi, the Blazing Sky:

Card advantage, AND netting even on ramp, as Ur-Dragon's cost reduction reduces the cost to 3? then get 3 treasure when it dies? Hell yea, its been a solid change..., I have found that Monarch just does too much work for my opponents and I cannot afford to give them any advantages.

Beledros Witherbloom ----------------> Demonic Tutor:

Really, really dope dragon, but I need to find ways to make this deck consistent and while Beledros IS epic, He doesnt help my overall strategy beyond that untap ability, and even then with all the pain lands it can be risky.... Besides, a tutor is always worth a million words anyway. Thus, Changed.

Moonveil Regent ----------------------> Despark:

Sadly, I wish the Regent did just a little bit more, dealing 5 damage on death is nice but I never take advantage of its wheel ability, mainly because I never have enough mass res spells. Fortunately, with Despark, I can get another solid piece of removal in the deck's belt and make it all the better. Thus, Changed.

I have been loving the changes so far, as it makes the deck a lot more versatile and hopefully I can continue to make it better!

You stated that $$ was why you were running the snow lands when proxies aren't allowed. Why not run a set of the shock lands? They do cost $ but it can give you that critical timing when you need it

duke0fearls:

Friend, the Shocks are in here. I run shocks and fetches within the deck, and then I run my proxy duals (which have dragon artwork on them).

Unless you are referring to a different set of shocks, then they are already here
