A deck that has been incredibly powerful in testing. Much more so than I had originally thought. Pretty cheap deck too.
Lots of ways to one-shot opponents with Fight with Fire, either off of Mirari, in multiples, or both. Turn 3 of Mirari into Whir of Invention X=5 for Gilded Lotus and Paradox Engine is the main inspiration for the deck, and probably among the more potent things this deck is capable of. However, this deck has shown the ability to combo off without one half or the other. Without Mirari, the deck can still storm off, and without Gilded Lotus and Paradox Engine you can still one-shot people with Fight with Fire on turn 6 with the help of all-star Grow from the Ashes
Oh, and it can make infinite mana. Following the line I just described, on turn 3 of Mirari, with a Gilded Lotus and a Paradox Engine on the field, if you Failure any of your own spells, you can use the copy of said Failure to return the original Failure back to your hand. Because Paradox Engine untaps Gilded Lotus during this process, you only paid 2 mana for the Failure you're looping, and the spell you were originally targeting with Failure stays on the stack, you net 1 mana every time you go through the process.
We'll see what kind of game this deck has against control. Failure / Comply and Commit / Memory are in there with control in mind, and Mirari seems really good against them if it sticks. We also have some acceleration to try and go over the top and overwhelm them, or at least threaten to.
So yeah, I'll be enjoying this Standard while it lasts. This deck is bonkers.
