1996 NY Pro Tour Championship 8° - George Baxter

Baxter, a 23-year-old marketing director and author from Dallas, Texas, use a 60-card black/speed deck, with touches of red for direct damage and just enough green fro Erham Djinns. Using a creature-heavy deck, Baxter affectionately called his compilation "The house of pain 2" - in tribute to the Houston Astrodome, the house of the NFL's Oilers. His strategy is to play one creature at a time, especially against players with mass-destruction spells such as Pyroclasm and Wrath of God. Consequently, his opponents are forced to deal with one creature at a time. "They have reactive cards, I have active cards," he said. "I play a very offensive style. Eventually my active cards will overcome their reative cards. You know, they might not have a Bolt at the right time. Creatures get to hit them a few times, so I'll net the better deal."
