Massacre Girl, Known Killer

Legendary Creature — Human Assassin

Menace

Creatures you control have wither. (They deal damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters.)

Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, if its toughness was less than 1, draw a card. (Dying is being put into the graveyard from the battlefield. Tokens enter the graveyard before they cease to exist.)

clayperce Wow, wow, wow. Never had this kind of such detailed help before, thank you very much.

I see what you mean about the "OUT" section, I don't disagree:

  • The adventure/omen dragons I just wanted to try them out and see how they felt, due to the versatility you mention, but I'm aware they will probably be at the top of the list when it comes to cutting cards;

  • Revel in Riches is a card that I have some experience with, from my Victory or Seppuku deck, where I added it, removed it because it was too slow, tried it again but ended up ultimately removing it. Was hoping it could find a home in this deck, but will probably suffer the same fate as before;

  • Vedalken Humiliator same as the dragons, wanted to try it out and see how it felt, if I could use it often, but again I'm aware it will be one of the first to go;

  • The draw enchants I hadn't seen them as a place to cut, but now that you mention it, yeah, it's the kind of cards that can often just sit there doing nothing, if there's no creatures, etc... Plus I hadn't yet counted how many draw cards I have xD

  • Voracious Bibliophile is basicly the same as the other dragons and the Vedalken guy, one of those creatures to try out and see how often I could make use of it, but not guaranteed to stay in the deck.

Your "IN" suggestions are actually all options I had considered to include in the main deck, but was going to leave those to try out later, if/when cutting the options mentioned above.

As for the Massacre Girl, Known Killer my plan was to put her if/when I remove Vedalken Humiliator, so she will most likely have a place in the deck, almost feels like she was made to be in it.

Again, thank you very much for your help. This is a deck I had in mind for a long time, but never really commited to it until now, glad there's people enjoying the build and contributing to improve it. My main deck is the one I mentioned previously in this comment, but I'd really like for this one to be my "second main" if it works well.

Yeah, Salubrious' manabase tool has probably improved the play of my decks more than any single thing out there.

FWIW, here's where I'd start with Silumgar: Silumgar First Look ... a "strong" manabase, with a 0.4 turn overall average delay, and a 0.5 turn average delay for Silumgar.

IN:
- A bunch of inexpensive untapped lands and a couple more utility lands.
- A few more Swamps and mana rocks.
- Bloodline Pretender, Adaptive Automaton, and Graveshifter: Solid utility Shapeshifters, er Dragons.
- Feywild Visitor: Generally solid, and SUPERB against go-wide decks.
- Roiling Dragonstorm: Repeatable draw for just ? Love it!

OUT:
- As many tapped lands as possible.
- Moved a bunch of Dragons to the Sideboard, focusing on the 6-mana ones (which compete directly with Silumgar). I'm would honestly drop Feral Deathgorger and Young Blue Dragon entirely ... I LOVE their flexibility, but 3 power for 5+ mana is too meh for me.
- Revel in Riches: A great card, but 5 mana is a LOT to spend for it.
- Vedalken Humiliator: Getting Metalcraft is just too hard in this deck.
- Reconnaissance Mission and Coastal Piracy: GREAT cards, but 15x card advantage and 7x card selection effects should be enough.
- Voracious Bibliophile: A decent enough Dragon, but without the card draw it's not great.

TWO MORE THOUGHTS:
- I REALLY like Massacre Girl, Known Killer in the deck. If I dropped a Land, this would be the card I added.
- Reflections of Littjara is also a great card for a deck like this, but we'd need to either drop some Legendary Dragons or add a bit more recursion to make it worth the 5 mana. I wouldn't want to do that at this point, but maybe as the deck evolves ...

Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk ... hopefully there's something useful in there! :-D

Good luck (and good skill!) with the deck; cheers!

In the recent update article to the bracket system, Gavin Verhey floated the idea of making hybrid mana symbols inclusive rather than excluding for the purpose of the 99. Regardless of how you feel about the change, what would the impact be?

Scryfall search for cards with hybrid mana

Ashiok, Dream Render gets to be annoying more often

Murderous Redcap gets to combo in even more decks

Dream Salvage: mono-black discard decks

Azor's Elocutors: mono-white pillow fort gets a wincon?

Sygg, River Cutthroat would be cool for a lot of political decks

Everlasting Torment & Kulrath Knight for Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons & Massacre Girl, Known Killer. For the Knight, also Toxrill, in case you want to be even more annoying.

Vexing Shusher expands its anti-countering services

Wort, the Raidmother might be neat for red+ spellslinger that uses tokens, like Magnus the Red

Rhys the Redeemed: more power to go-wide strategies (although Elfball haters might not be so enthustiatic)

The bonder cycle: Jubilant Skybonder, Cunning Nightbonder, Proud Wildbonder, and Sonorous Howlbonder ... also Alert Heedbonder, I guess.

Enchanted Evening, Gilder Bairn: more shenanigans abound

Godhead of Awe: might be neat for mono-W?

Worm Harvest: Titania is now the queen of worms

All companions become available to an expanded selection of color identites, with the exception of Jegantha (and Lutri)

Heyo, i love this deck as i have been brewing around this style of deck for a while. I am specifically trying to make a vampire tribal version of this deck as i found some fun combos and vampires that work well with this strategy. Here are my suggestions

first: if you are gonna kill the tokens off, Blood Artist and Slaughter Specialist are some cards you should think about, they work well and offer other ways for this deck to win.

second: Illness in the Ranks is a good way to remove all the tokens, Toxic Deluge would be helpful as well as it would be another way for you to do a mass board wipe other than.

third: some fun cards you can add i would recommend would be Hunted Bonebrute, and Hunted Horror. they are not the best cards as bonebrute can be easily killed by a Lightning Bolt and hunted horror might give the opponent too much value, but they should be considered as well.

some other fun cards to consider are Massacre Girl, Known Killer and Massacre Wurmfoil. massacre girl just gives you automatic value with draw cards, while massacre wurm can be another wincon. they might be a bit too slow though.

eitherway, great deck. i wish you luck with it!

Have you considered Massacre Girl, Known Killer or Corrosive Mentor ?

It doesn't count as a sweeper, so you have it right, but it's basically taking up the sweeper slot. She does set up a repeatable removal like I need from a sweeper, but in the most janky way to think about it.

I need a sweeper that is one-sided so that I don't lose my key disguised creatures, since the critical core of the deck is hinged on the action of flipping the disguise creatures at the right time. Something straightforward like Deadly Cover-Up or Path of Peril that could be in that slot is just killing my own stuff and making it much harder to win even if I get to stall the opponent. My deck doesn't rebuild very well after sweeping my own stuff.

I don't see anything in Standard in Sultai colors that can really play that role the way I need. So I gotta try something jank. March of Swirling Mist maybe. The Phasing of Zhalfir maybe can preserve one of my key creatures from the jank sweep. But Massacre Girl, Known Killer does work with what this deck is doing. This deck gets an extra few creatures on the board on average than the opponent, and each of those creatures are Wither blockers where the opponent's creatures take on accumulating damage over time. The opponent's creatures don't get swept immediately, but eventually they get picked off by the plentiful 2/2s I can afford to chump with, and when they do I get to draw bonus cards.

It doesn't seem great at all, but then again I get to play with Massacre Girl, Known Killer which by itself is fun anyway.

I don't understand how Massacre Girl, Known Killer counts as a sweeper. Doesn't that term refer to a card that can remove a bunch of creatures at once, like Wrath of God?

Hey y'all! I'm trying to make a janky Massacre girl kill'em'all EDH deck happen for a while. Could you please comment on it? I'm trying to keep it budget-ish, except for the cards that are included in the theme (both Massacre Girl and Massacre Girl, Known Killer, and also The Meathook Massacre are quite expensive nowadays.) Other than that, I hope you enjoy it!

@Entari0, your deck is wild! I don't even know how to improve it to be fair, however... have you seen the new card Undergrowth Recon to be released in MKM? I think it could be a really strong addition for recursion and redundancy.

I'll coment it in the deck page as well.
