Forgive me if I am necro-ing this question. If the elves are all green or even 1/1s there are a few things you can do. Stuff like: Ethereal Absolution, Engineered Plague, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, Perish, Crovax, Ascendant Hero, Ascendant Evincar, Night of Souls' Betrayal, Curse of Death's Hold, Festercreep, and Death's-Head Buzzard (Need to kill it).

You know 3n3rgy2, I thought about running Chainer but I honestly like Balthor more. It's such a powerful (though expensive) ability! And yep, it's called An Old-School Nightmare; you may have seen it before? There is also a really awesome old-school Volrath the Fallen deck I see from time to time - highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already!
PAHamster, Plague Spitter seems like it might go really well here. Gloomdrifter, Plague Dogs, and Death's-Head Buzzard also might be useful if you have reiable sac outlets. I use them as dusters in my own deck :)

Maybe Death's-Head Buzzard could be okay, but I feel like the others don't really fit in the more aggressive deck. I actually played Gnaw to the Bone for quite a while with this deck, but it was often too slow to fight Burn effectively. Golgari Brownscale has been my go-to way to fight them. Looping two back and forth usually prompts a concession.

As long as they have been printed as a common you can use them. It doesn't matter if they've changed rarity or not. I would increase the land count. Also a Tormod's Crypt for graveyard hate. Maybe some more draw options. Death's-Head Buzzard is a decent board wipe on a stick (so many common creatures have a toughness of one). Festercreep is also a good one.
