My take on a blue cantrip.Thought up a new counter.like a Kismet but different.I do believe the speculation that Heliod was from Regatha and gave up his spark to be a God.

I made a Zurgo walker. I just wanted a Mardu walker, so it doesn't have to be Zurgo from a lore perspective.

Procrastinate is essentially Delay ;P

External Force is also very similar to Blind Obedience

I really like the Heliod, but the "lose X life" part of his ultimate doesn't seem white to me. The rest of the card looks good though.

Wait, Delay's a card? Noooo!!!! Also, it is very similar, but can be put in a non-Ravinican block.

Thanks Fowler of Sirs.

is extensive study a bit too much? if the first card you draw is an instant/sorcery then it becomes Sleight of Hand and if the second is also an instant/sorcery then it becomes a better Ancestral Recall. It would make storm decks broken, wouldn't it?

the mardu planeswalker ult is preeeetty scary

Aha I saw Delay used a few months back and had the same reaction.

Maybe Zurgo's +1 could be indestructible and haste? His first two abilities are mono red and his ultimate is mostly white (aside from the token he makes). His ultimate is also extremely powerful. Essentially wins the game unless they untap and cast a board wipe of their own.

I think the way Extensive Study is worded it would only let you draw one extra card. Either way, potentially two cards and a scry for one mana is too strong I believe.

I was thinking that most of these seemed good though. +1

Your procrastinate spell should cost , , or . It's a phenominal idea but needs to be cheaper because instead of countering that Hero's Downfall your just delaying it.

Extensive Study just seems broken for modern. With that said if you are designing with legacy and vintage more in mind then it would fit right in with cards like Ponder, Preordain and others. Still, I think you need to design some checks and balances for this set. Something like Spirit of the Labyrinth or Eidolon of Rhetoric but formatted like Leyline of Sanctity would be great for allowing "Fair" decks to stand up to all the combo decks.

Yeah, I can see Study overpowering Delver. Might make it UU or give an extra effect like 'instead of scry 1, scry 3/2, then put top card in grave.

Hm you know I realized after I posted that the Study card might make something like High Tide or Storm a ton more powerful even in Legacy/Vintage? So the question is do you want to increase cost making it unfeasible for quick spell only combo decks or decrease it's efficiency? Even if it was just draw one scry 1, then scry 1 again if the card was an instant or sorcery would be pretty good for High Tide I think. You could also format it like Rune Snag. Say it scries one regardless but for every one in the graveyard it scries an additional 1?

Extensive study seems too good in Storm. Maybe Scry 3 or something instead of drawing an extra card?

@FAMOUSWATERMELON Then wouldn't it just be a worse Serum Visions?

by the way, i meant Serum Visions, not Sleight of Hand. but regardless, i think you're right MindAblaze

July 27, 2015 2:13 p.m.

Well it would be better, draw the first card AND scry 3 + 1.

July 27, 2015 2:21 p.m.

SirFowler says... #15

Yeah but it's more situational while the Serum Visions is consistent in what it does. So in my eyes, it's worse.

Extensive Study

Draw a card.

Scry 1

Intelligible--If the drawn card was an instant or sorcery card, you may reveal it as you draw it. If you do, Scry 2 and put the top card of your library into your graveyard instead of Scrying 1.

Extensive study

Scry 1

Draw a card

Copy this spell for each Extensive Study in all graveyards

Thoughts? Its a worse Preordain but can get better with multiple copies. Follows the idea of Accumulated Knowledge

tempest says... #18

oh wait. that makes infinite copies i think.

Extensive Study

Scry 1, then draw a card.Repeat this process for each Extensive Study in all graveyards
