Live Testing, Round: One —Feb. 1, 2015
Summary of Play:
Four player free-for-all resulting in Mimeo's first Victory! The Opponents were Karador, Ghost Chieftain, Jenara, Asura of War and Thraximundar. I resolved an entwined Tooth and Nail to find two creatures with a staggering combined CMC of 5: Leech Bonder and Devoted Druid. I already had Trinket Mage, Deathrite Shaman, Paradise Mantle, and Lightning Greaves in play. Using this Combo:
Equip Paradise Mantle to Leech Bonder. Repeat: Equip Lightning Greaves to Devoted Druid. Tap Devoted Druid for and untap him with his ability. Then Equip Lightning Greaves to Leech Bonder and tap him for . Then untap him with his ability and move Devoted Druid's -1/-1 Counter onto an enemy creature Repeat.
I cleared the board of six creatures and netted 30x. Then I played Chord of Calling for getting Kozilek, Butcher of Truth Equipped him with Lightning Greaves and attacked the Karador, Ghost Chieftain resulting in him conceding as a result of having no hand, board or lands (I Bojuka Boged him earlier). The next turn I cast The Mimeoplasm as a copy of Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and played Blood Artist for the instant win.
Thoughts and Conclusions:
- Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver is really good, further testing warranted
- Geralf's Messenger not being in the deck cost me an immediate win as Mikaeus, the Unhallowed was in my graveyard.
- Less Counterspell, more Combo
