I'm just curoious why westvale abbey is in this deck? You're gonna to have to be on turn 8 or 9 by the time you even get to activate it, and by then you're going to have lost the game, unless you luck out on 3 reality smashers in a row.

Well, it's a colorless source & it can vomit up a blocker in the late game if I'm out of removal with plenty of mana, which is surprisingly relevant. Pay 1 life to block a big guy without trample & buy time. The odds of flipping it are low, but the tokens make it worth it. I do not intend to ever flip it.

So, for token chumps. That's why. And colorless mana.

@angelofdivinity well in that case, why not just run call the bloodline? keep abbey, I would even say 3 abbey 3 fe, use 2 call the bloodline in place of 2 warping wail. for 1, it generates tokens to trade those 1 toughness you're trying to kill, it's generally used as a madness outlet, but in your case you're going to need a delirium outlet, which it does just as effectively, which boosts both to the slaughter and pick the brain to game-changing cards, and it has the potential to flip Abbey into Ormendahl if the game pushes that way.

@CapitonMurfish Usually I don't, but usually I don't need to.

@mlssufan01 An interesting idea, but it feels a bit unwieldy. I feel like the utility of Warping Wail, being able to knock both power & toughness 1-, (Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip?) as well as counter sorceries and produce 1/1s like Call the Bloodline that also sac for mana makes it a better choice, plus you have to throw more cards at Call the Bloodline.

As an aside, I went first place yesterday.

So, I want some input on something: I have some quandaries about what colorless lands I should be using. Here's a list of the ones I'm considering and why:

Caves of Koilos: Produces black mana in a pinch.

Westvale Abbey  Flip: Produces blockers late game? Problem is usually by late game if I'm still alive I have control, and let's face it, I am never going to flip him up. Ever.

Sea Gate Wreckage: If I were in a pinch where Westvale would be nice, I'd rather spend less mana to simply draw a card..... So this is probably better?

Or

Mirrorpool: I honestly don't know, but I mean, it's a mythic so.... it's probably good? Throwing out an extra kill spell could save the day? Or an extra Reality Smasher?

And as an aside, Blighted Fen isn't on this list because it's a definite 4-of. But then I have at least 4 other slots that I want to be able to produce colorless. I would love some input about this. Thank you!

Mirrorpool has been rather excellent in every deck I've played it in to date. Maybe as a 1-2 of, but I think the Enters Tapped Clause makes it a bit worse as just a land. The effect is the entire reason you run the card (It also synergizes well with Remorseless Punishment if you've got the busload of mana required to use both).

Sea Gate Wreckage Might be good in a pinch. Probably not great if you've got Ob Nixilis Reignited, or Read the Bones already drawing all the cards for you.

Then Caves of Koilos is pretty much the same thing. Fine in a pinch, but if you could, I wouldn't run it. I'd honestly just run Wastes in the slot there if you need the Colorless that badly.

And let's just forget all about Westvale Abbey  Flip. The 5 mana for a 1/1 is not worth it.

I guess I'll try Mirrorpool then. Though I do have to disagree with you point of wastes being better than Caves of Koilos, I mean unless you're running Walker of the Wastes or one of the like 3-4 cards that specifically benefit off wastes, caves is still strictly better, either one enters untapped and doesn't have to pay life for colorless mana, but whereas you can pay life into Caves for black you can't with Wastes.

Thank you as always Errast. In fact, you know what, take a look in the description at about 5:37.
