2-2 for first FNM —April 15, 2016

Went 2-2 last friday but I learned a lot of things:

1st Round GW Aggro - Loss 1-2

First game was Atarka's Round with full of removals. Second game he just rushed me with Servant of the Scales and avatar of resolutes. Third game was Dromoka's round. I wish I pulled two clip wings and won with atarka.

2nd Round Mono-Blue Eldrazi - Win 2-1

First game won again with atarka but it took at least 5 spells to sacrifice to make atarka resolved. Second game was dominated by Thing in the Ice  Flip. I didn't have the right answers to that game. Third game was another atarka win and living lore helped me out cast Pore Over the Pages twice to topdeck atarka.

3rd Round BW Midrange - Loss 0-2

First round was very close. Im about to cast The Great Aurora in my hand but I lack 1 mana to cast it and we keep back and forth with removals. Eventually he got me with Shambling Vents and win the game. Second round was a defensive round but I didnt have the right answers to Elusive Tormentor  Flip and Sorin, Grim Nemesis.

4th Round BG Delirium Tokens - Win 2-0

I dominated him in the first round by removals and removals. Eventually, Sin Prodder and Surrak sealed the deal and won. Second round was kinda scary. He had a lot of Moldgraf Scavenger to defend but eventually wiped out with Chandra's Ignition to a 5/5 living lore with Pore Over the Pages and win with awakened lumbering falls (thanks, Part the Waterveil!)

Overall, this deck is promising to become a surprising rogue deck to steal in money matches. I did some changes in the main and sideboards to further adjust with the current metagame. Also, I learned that you don't need to put a lot of big spells to satisfy the deck's theme...In other words, I will not solely rely on Living Lore alone and my other creatures can finish the game for me (isn't it, Dragonlord Atarka? hehe)

Here are my current changes:

  • -1 Volcanic Vision - too much for a mana cost
  • +1 Brutal Expulsion - more chance to killing two birds in one stone (bounce the biggest creature or a vital spell and kill the smallest ones or exile a planeswalker)
  • More mana fixing specially acquiring blue in early stages of the game.

I might consider playing this in our gameday and surprise other players. I might also add Clone Legion somewhere in the main due to popularity of creature based decks. Again, a +1s, comments, suggestions and constructive criticisms are always welcome.

THIS IS AWESOME. Seriously, best original deck I've seen in awhile. I have to just trust you that it's consistent enough to win because I wouldn't even know where to start, but honestly just hilarious. I didn't even know Living Lore existed. +10000

Thanks and also please do a playtest on this deck. Although I did a lot of simulations in decked builder app and paper cards, I need further testing. Thanks again!

really enjoy your deck idea, so original. Ive been playtesting it(i had to proxy jace though :\ ) and it has been a blast to play through. Not sure how viable it can be in the current meta but I would love to hear how your events go with it. I would definitely suggest a few copies of radiant flames in the SB though for the heavy aggro meta.
