I don't know if it's possible without giving your creatures indestructible or somthing, because the forerunner will kill himself.

First to say, I really like the idea of getting infinite Dinos and finishing your opponent with them.

But, like already stated, infinite is not possible without giving your Forerunner of the Empire indestructible, because it will kill itself once the third Dinosaur entered the battlefield.

Cards that make at least one creature indestructible (in Standard):

Also, I'm missing the option to finish off your opponent the turn you'd go infinite.

Possible Options:

  • anything that gives your bunch of Polyraptor haste.

  • Bellowing Aegisaur: Prevents your first polyraptor from dying, so it can attack; but need a second Aegisaur to survive more than four damage.

  • Snapping Sailback: Gets bigger on himself while taking damage; would need to be on the board the turn you go infinite.

  • Sun-Crowned Hunters: Combine it with the two Aegisaurs and you have the MG that kills off your opponent.

Like I see this, you either have to splash white (for the bellowing ones) or find something that gives all your creatures indestructible.

Ok, so here's how the Polyraptor Forerunner of the Empire combo works.

If all you are using is these two cards, then you have two options. Either get 7 Polyraptor tokens (so 8 copies total including the original) and the Forerunner dies...

OR

You get 3 Polyraptor tokens (4 copies in all) and the Forerunner Lives.

Here's how that works. Polyraptor enters and triggers the ETB effect. That deals 1 to each creature and triggers Enrage. A token then enters, causing another trigger. This trigger deals 1 damage to BOTH Polyraptors, putting 2 Enrage triggers on the stack. Now, it gets tricky here. When the next token enters the battlefield, you have to not use Forerunner's ability (it is a MAY effect). Then the second token enters, triggering Forerunner one final time (since he dies at this point). The 1 damage will hit 4 Polyraptors (3 tokens and the OG), creating 4 more tokens. So here you got 7 tokens total.

Otherwise, you can opt out of BOTH of the last two Forerunner triggers, only ending up with 3 tokens, but your Forerunner will get to live with only 2 damage on him.

As for that finisher? Regisaur Alpha is the answer you are looking for. Play 4 copies. He's really good.

Remember, Crafty Cutpurse will be a big obstacle in your deck's success.

Did you ever consider Champion of Rhonas as a way to cheat out a Raptor?

I like the idea, but would consider Siegehorn Ceratops, Sheltering Light, and Raptor Hatchling. This would let you have early threats that still fit the enrage and token thing you are going for. I wouldn't be afraid to throw a couple of Fling in there either.

butthurt_qrow I would but with the mana generation I already have it would be redundant and I'm trying to do my best to make it rotation proof with the exception of heroic intervention due to no other option.

hooliganrowdy While i would like to add Siegehorn Ceratops and Sheltering Light I have chosen to sick with just green/red but I have been considering raptor hatching. I have also been considering fling as a side board option.

OK with Heroic Intervention I see the combo. However this actually goes infinite, so you have an infinite amount of triggers which are mandatory but don't end the game. So if I'm not mistaken, every time you pull off the combo, the game is a draw.

(CR719.4. If the loop contains only mandatory actions, the game ends in a draw. (See rule 102.4b.))

lachenderzwerg The forerunner is a may ability so it is not mandatory.
