No Armageddon type effects? Will they hurt you to much?

Ironically in my stax deck I run sphere of safety and thorn of amethyst which counter acts this deck since you are paying mana to cast the free things off of omen.

No Knowledge Pool for a redundant lock piece?

I'm currently building this deck as well, one card you should probably run is Delay , its basically another 2 CMC counter, and after it can be cast again it'll just be countered by Lavinia.

I think this deck needs Sea of Clouds

Lavinia also makes Dream Halls one sided which can be a very powerful effect

@zendrix1, Dream Halls is one sided, but at 5 mana it doesn't really add to much to the Stax strategy. We really want to play a grindy control game and try to win with beats. Its not as sexy as Jimmy's Lavinia list, but this is a much more consistent and solid list for more competitive metas.

You could add Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir for its combo with knowledge pool.

Your build inspired me to build my own Lavinia Stax Deck. Will test it as sonn as i manage to get all the cards together.

Is these deck made for multiplayer or more for 1v1?

@Neverluckykrip it is built for 4 player pods specifically, however in my testing it is a very strong 1v1 build too.

Land Tax probably shouldn't be counted as mana ramp.

You are running very few stax cards. What about Stasis/Smothering Tithe-Lock or cards like Frozen Aether?

This makes my Kess deck Shiver and cringe. Good work, but I like having all the fun. :(

Spirit of the labyrinth can be fun too, oh and grand arbiter augustin IV. Teferis Puzzle box can be stupid with alms collector!

ChurchofJhoira what do you think of Eye of the Storm ? Mana cost may be too high i think... but otherwise it suppresses Instants and sorceries by opponents as long as Lavinia is out and supports our own ones.

@CptRodgers it is, at the very least, worth trying out. The only major concern I have with that card is the consistency with which we can get that out. The advantage of our other "lock" pieces of Knowledge Pool and Omen Machine are both tutorable at instant speed via Whir of Invention . The other disadvantage is if someone casts an Abrupt Decay into that, everyone now has a means of blowing up most of your board (including your commander) that Lavinia can do nothing about.

I think if you are playing in a slower, battlecruiser meta Eye is probably fine. But the inability to tutor on demand, the ability of our opponents to cast uncounterable spells into the the enchantment, plus is 5UU casting cost; it may be risky to play in faster metas.

Give it a shot and let me know how it works out for you tho! I am all about experimentation! Those are just my concerns.

What do you think of Dust Bowl over Tectonic Edge ? Its a bit more mana intensive, but can screw opponents better.

Another suggestion would be Fumigate over Wrath of God , because of the lifegain, which could help you surviving especially in aggro heavy metas.
