Lantern Shuffle Control

Legacy* Control UR (Izzet)

Trapdoorspyder

A version of lantern control utilizing shuffling rather than mill for the majority of card draw filtering. I chose to do this route as it also allows you to shuffle your own deck, and make sure you draw what you want. Feedback welcome.

Ghost Quarter: To take care of problematic lands, as well as a shuffle trigger.

Lantern of Insight: Doing what it usually does in these type of decks. Seeing if stuff needs to be shuffled, and can also force a shuffle itself in a pinch.

Psychic Surgery: Very useful shuffle trigger, making it possible to filter pretty much all of your opponent's draws. One of the ways to really make sure they don't draw anything good.

Orcish Spy: Just for seeing if you should shuffle your's or your opponent's decks.

Soldier of Fortune: The only reusable shuffle trigger in the deck.

Ponder, Portent: Mainly deck stacking tools. Cantrip is a useful side benefit.

Counterbalance: With all the deck-stacking going on, some of which is instant speed, this is a fairly reliable counter.

Cosi's Trickster: We need to be able to close out the game eventually, after all.

Codex Shredder: If you don't have or don't want to use a shuffle, this will do nicely. The spot of graveyard recursion is also nice.

Jace, the Mind Sculptor: Mainly here for the +2 and +0. Preventing your opponent from getting a good draw and making sure you do get one. -12 will also work for closing out games.

Totally Lost, Chaos Warp: If your opponent already has a threat fielded. Totally lost is slightly worse than Chaos Warp, and you'll usually want to shuffle afterwards. Chaos Warp has a built in shuffle, but you have to weigh the possibilities of what might come up.
