New things report. —Aug. 10, 2016

Trying out Lifeline and Sidisi, Undead Vizier in addition to the other cards previously mentioned, and both cards saw play the last game session as did Zulaport Cutthroat. I am on the fence about Lifeline as it doesn’t combo with Fleshbag Marauder or Merciless Executioner as previously thought (silly oracle text), but it does have some good synergy with the previously mentioned cards. Zulaport did not get to do much work sadly. I am also running a pair of Lightning Greaves at the moment in place of Champion's Helm and I’ve cut Demon of Wailing Agonies, Overseer of the Damned, and Murderous Cut.

As stated in the tech above, the decks greatest weakness is indeed itself. I’m running one of the best mana fixers for black as well as some of the best creatures for mana fixing in EDH but I just didn’t have enough lands or draw into those cards. Perhaps they just need to be my default tutor targets no matter what, though I run only two of those and don’t want to add more. I think I’m going to go against advice and in Kothophed, Soul Hoarder as it should net me some serious card advantage. Perhaps it was also just luck of the draw as I kind of stalled out after a certain point in the games, though the last one can be attributed to a misplay on my behalf. I do feel like I need another sweeper however and maybe Necromantic Selection or Mutilate will be placed into the deck to fill that role.

How about Caged Sun and Gauntlet of Power to help with ramp. It can get you up to 8 mana per swamp.

And Lifeline is a great card with your commander. It normally works for everyone, but with him out, it only works for you. It also combos with Fleshbag Marauder and Merciless Executioner to keep your opponents board clear of creatures.

Btherricks, thanks for the suggestions. I'm actually running Gauntlet of Power currently, and it does indeed do some work. Caged Sun was a card in my original pile of cards, but it ultimately didn't make the team as I felt I needed one more piece of removal at instant speed.

I believe that I sat here laughing for about five minutes straight after reading Lifeline. I presently don't have one (and hadn't heard of it until now as I sadly wasn't playing during the block it was released in), but that is going onto the acquire list for sure. Amazing card for this list.
