if you want to play better stuff quicker than use Voyaging Satyr and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx because then you could possibly have a monstrous ember swallower on turn three if you get some devotion creatures. it is a great deck but if you want to be finishing off the players faster than you want a bigger mana faster than just elvish mystics. Good deck.

I always love when someone builds outside the meta. Doubly so for this desk, as my first deck was LD. Very nicely done. +1 w/o a doubt.

Love it. I've always rolled Gruul in Standard and my best-ever performing Casual deck is a LD one (I miss Liquimetal Coating sooo much...) Great job, but I do really feel Burning-Tree Emissary could help you out here, it grants a free 2-drop (burn, Caryatid, etc) and gives you a throwaway chump-blocker.

How come you feel it sets you back?

+1 BTW!

Sweet deck, going to test it out at next weeks fnm. I would play an exact copy of this but I don't have the third Xenagos, The Reveler and I don't have the Deathrite Shaman or Anger of the Gods for the sideboard. What would you recommend to replace these with?

I've playtested it today and It's a really fun deck. I've never played LD before so I have to learn when to focus on casting creatures or destruction spells. Which is pretty difficult imo. But really fun, I've wanted to try something like this for a long time but haven't been able to make one on my own! Thanks and I'm gonna se if I can play it some more and take it to an fnm :) if you have any tips and tricks to play this deck please tell me. Just stuff like when to cast creatures or destruction spells and stuff like that :)

nice deck and +1 from me! Awesome deck

I love this deck, but I cant get over how great it would be if you could run Deus of Calamity

i love tappedout because of things like this! i was organizing my collection a little the other day, and i actually pulled out frenzied tilling, encroaching wasters, demolish and a peak eruption, and i laughed cause i knew someone else out there was looking at those cards and was gonna make a bad ass standard land destruction deck, bravo!

I like this deck! +1 from me

I'm working on a similar project; maybe you could help me out a little? I'm trying to keep it budget-friendly, however...

I made the deck card for card and I feel that it does need some tightening up but I took it to a Sunday tournament and went 7-1-1 for first place. Not a bad deck. All the players were raging so hard. I laughed all the way.

maybe some Burning Earth in the sideboard? that way whatever lands they do have they will have to take damage from (unless they r mono or even two color but then u just wouldnt side it in.)

Btw. Is it just me or do you get mana screwed alot? as i see it. You would atleast like to sit with 2 manas 1 mana dork and some land destruction. Then draw a land and go bunkers. But i think it's really often that i start out with 1 land in my hand and have to mulligan. So woulden't 24 mana be more apropiate?

November 4, 2013 1:28 p.m.

K1LR0Y says... #15

like run 23 lands depending on what kind of deck im running. i play with 23 lands mostly and dont get screwed. it just depends on what kind of deck ur using. if i was playing control i play 25 or 26 lands. if im playing red deck wins i play 20 or 21. if im playing midrange i play 23 or 24 (normally 24) im not answering for EmperorRancor but i have play tested his deck and didnt get screwed. he is running mana dorks too so at lest he can afford to lose a drop or two unlike other decks were when u miss a drop u lose the game.

True. But when you wanna be able to cast your first mana destruction spell on turn 3 for the deck to do it's bedst. and i just think i get screwed alot. How far would you mulligan?

K1LR0Y says... #17

five. i wouldnt go any further but if its game two or three i might go to 4 if the 5 was terrible depending on what my opponent is playing.

EmperorRancor, i would take out the Mutavault and 1x Forest for 2x Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx .

I tried shrine, it does not perform as well as you would intend and its a dead land ifyou get it in your opening hand

This looks like a blast to play, but I refuse to believe this won 5 matches and lost 0 against the caliber of higher tiered decks in Standard.

I'm not sure about siding in Hammer of Purphoros against golgari since most tend to run Golgari Charm .

People trolling and doubting it went 5/0? I bet that's what people first said when the decks that are now the "high tier" decks first were played. They all have to start somewhere. Hundreds and sometimes over a thousand MTG cards can be in standard at a given time. The combinations of decks are almost limitless.

I would plus you one again if I could.

The deck is great and I do belive 5/0 if I can go 7-1-1 then for sure it can, that one loss was 15 mins after I finished building it, so litteraly the first time I had even tested it and I took a terrible hand not knowing what I needed in hand and match 2 I wrecked then 3 I had to mul to 5 so that didn't go well. Then match 2 was esper control I took the first game then they took the second they opening handed 3 yoked ox as a side board and didn't miss a land drop for 6 turns and I didn't start with a mana dork and then we hit time ended in a draw, I went 2/0 6 wins in a row then 2/1 for. 1st and second place match up. I played mono black and. Red deck wins and a few teir 1 lists and didn't ever feel their wrath, until you build the deck and run it you can't fully understand how great it is. All the suggestions I'm seeing aren't even close. And if you use the play tester its jank at best

i believe it when 5-0. my friend went 3-1 with a gruul aggro deck back in innistrad/return to ravnica (dragons maze wasnt out yet) and we were like ''how?'' cuz the deck wasnt even good. i think this is a good deck so i believe it did go 5-0. even if this was bad it depends on how bad the other decks u r playing against. (hence how my friend took 3rd)
