This was originally a Lorwyn Merfolk deck with the theme of tapping its own creatures. With the introduction of green merfolk from Ixlan it shifted from UW to UG. It combines the many Merfolk lords like Merfolk Mistbinder and Merrow Reejerey, with card draw with Seafloor Oracle and Distant Melody, and some +1/+1 counters
