I want to build a deck around Coveted Jewel sort of like a king of the hill type theme. Outside of Monarch how would you build this deck? Want to get some ideas going.
Are you looking for a a sort of winner-takes-all approach? Contested War Zone, Crag Saurian, Turf War, Fractured Loyalty
A combat control approach? Anything with goad, Commander 2013 curses, Seeker of Slaanesh, Goblin Diplomats, Shipwreck Singer
Group hug? Rites of Flourishing, Humble Budoka, Secret Rendezvous

I think Crown of Doom deserves a special mention here..

FormOverFunction I guess to explain my comment above: you are giving me some serious, Asian cursed pawnshop/petstore owner vibers from Gremlins. Or the Cursed shop owner from The Simpsons (AKA: Gremlins guy, AKA Monkey's Paw)

If Orvar, the All-Form is commander, then every card you cast targeting Jewel gives absurd value. It also lets you copy King of the Hill effects so that the value really builds on one player

legendofa possibly a winner take all or combat control. Maybe a mix of both sounds kind of interesting.

If you've got the colours for both, War Tax and War Cadence are deceptively powerful, either is great on it's own, but both together can hold the whole board hostage very easily. You can get a ton of political leverage out of either, but having both is even better. They're two of my favorite politics cards, and both are very good with the Jewel/similar effects. There is also the whole Propaganda/Ghostly Prison family of cards, including several attached to creatures (Windborn Muse for example).
If you're in White, there is a smattering of creatures that tap to blow up an attacking creature, there are also great Shadows out there if you want some super evasive creatures, I think there are 2 or 3 truly great Shadows in Esper colours (and one very solid Boros Shadow), but lots of bad ones.
Strixhaven Stadium is a great card that cares about getting in vs opponents, and if you want a weird game, you can use Fractured Identity on it and watch people struggle.

Gleeock that’s definitely some of what I was going for with my Antique Shop deck. A different tack you could take, NTakamura, would be Initiative effects. That’s something everyone can fight over with creatures.

This is the sort of card that I move into my Antique Shop themed deck as I get them. Maybe something theme-heavy like that? Alluring trinkets?
