Sideboard

The idea for this deck was formed during Amonket standard, built around using Nissa, Steward of Elements . I never got the deck to function at a level I was happy with then, so I'm trying again now that I can play Courser as well. The idea is I want to build a value engine by playing cards straight from the top of my deck. I'm not sure if I would quite call it aggro with so much of it focused on "card draw," but I want to turn a lot of things sideways and end some games.

The Engine

4x Nissa, Steward of Elements 3x Vizier of the Menagerie 4x Courser of Kruphix

Depending on the matchup, I can play Nissa as either a in two different ways: a 3 mana walker to use her +2 as a source of early filtering, or at 5 mana to land her right at 3 loyalty. Once she is at 3 loyalty, I want to spam +0 every turn until the end of time. The purpose of courser/vizier is to know if it's a safe time to +0 Nissa. Nissa also has the very small possibility of ulting right as she enters for 8 mana (having 2 dorks and 6 lands, isn't impossible to do by turn 5-7 if the game goes long)

The Dorks

4x Elvish Mystic 4x Llanowar Elves

As someone who has almost exclusively played mono green or simic throughout my magic career, the first thing I thought of when I heard about pioneer was these two.

The Gas

4x Sphinx of Foresight 4x Steel Leaf Champion 4x Tireless Tracker 4x Sylvan Advocate

This is where this deck has completely changed shapes multiple times. At one point I had a higher CMC, but I believe I want to stay as low as I can to get Nissa working the way I want.

My current focus is deciding which 2-4 CMC creatures I can run, mainly focusing on 3CMC, as that is an easy number to get Nissa to. I am mainly looking for recommendations to fill out the “gas” slots in my deck.
