Jaddi Offshoot is a great sideboard card against aggro because it can block aswell as gain you life

i need to be better at keeping up with these...

ZaulEnTaro- those 3 cards you mentioned are some of the most vital cards in the deck. when they're out, games end pretty quickly. i considered both Embodiment of Spring and Crater Elemental for a long time but both acted as support cards that weren't necessary for the deck to perform well. As for getting lands directly from the library, i agree that it'd be useful in some cases, but they're mostly unnecessary. I don't need that many 5/5s to win a game. Thats how i feel at least. Could you elaborate your viewpoint a little more?

Ranger7- see above

-Akhlys-- i think Retreat to Kazandu fulfills the same role with added benefits. the extra life per land negates the higher mana cost.

Getting a 8 drop, ala Omnath, out is a bit of a chore, and Embodiment of Spring helps that out.

Not to mention it's an elemental, so it's thematic, and is relevant in the lategame (with an omnath out) whereas Natural Connection or the like would give you a 5/5, 5/5 + 3 damage for embodiment dying? Seems legit.

What would you remove? Space is an issue here. Also, getting blue on turn 1 is difficult for this deck. It's already strained and I don't want to make it even more so

I'd drop Atarka's Command and/or Undergrowth Champion, they just don't seem to "do it" for me.

removed one Mountain and Temur Ascendancy for 2 Sword of the Animist

I feel like 3 Temur Ascendancy is a bit to much.

kameenook- i've made both those changes before and i've settled back to those two because they're extremely relevant. Atarka's Command seemed weak to me at first, but each of those abilities are all extremely relevant with Feed the Clan and Nissa's Renewal and all the khans dragons. Undergrowth Champion has awesome defensive and offensive capabilities and its resilient as well. while Omnath, Locus of Rage + Embodiment of Spring is cool, it just isn't necessary with Rattleclaw Mystic/Whisperer of the Wilds not to mention the things it will do to the mana base. those 2 cards are much better than i initially thought but their potency comes out during playtesting.

gammastraling- are you saying you removed those 2 for 2 swords? how were your results? i know 3 is perhaps a bit much, but with See the Unwritten and Kiora, Master of the Depths, its too easy to miss it and its important enough for me to want it out every game

I love this deck, it is awesome, fun to play, powerful, and big fat and green. My favorite kind of deck. Too bad I don't have money

i just started playing with crater elementals in my temur deck and am liking them. pulled surprise wins by activating 8 attack, can block almost every creature, can sac/burn and the burn spell option is not sunk by my koria -2

I agree that it's good, but it doesn't synergize well with Temur Ascendacy. What would you take out for it?

i havent really tested Temur Ascendancy but thats what i dont run. seems win more. you want something more immediate if your behind, I dont really like cards that you only want to cast when your ahead. If this standard slows down, which seems likely, then possibly it would be great. if I was to test Temur Ascendancy i think it would be sideboard for control/ slow matchesand something main to help keep stable vs faster decks.
then again meta is everything maybe nobodys playing burn or allies where you are, but boros goblins and atarka aggro and so fourth wreck me if i dont have answers to speed in my main, they just remove your dorks and then are too far ahead so your bombs are too little too late

true true. and you don't think Retreat to Kazandu is enough?

SirEpic says... #14

Eould you ever consider running Jaddi Offshoot against aggro?

October 11, 2015 10:43 p.m.

tempest says... #15

SirEpic- not particularly. i think Retreat to Kazandu is sufficient

i have. especially in conjunction with Thousand Winds. i has potential but i find that Surrak Dragonclaw essentially fills the same role. at 5 mana (color requirements aren't difficult to meet), both allow me to get more damage in but dragonclaw also makes my creatures uncounterable which is pretty vital.

Sarkhan Unbroken? He helpes filter your deck, ramps you and triggers Temur Ascendancy.

tempest says... #21

honestly EnderPlaysCompetitiveMTG, because it doesn't fit the theme which really bothers me XD. it would fit right in

October 14, 2015 11:39 p.m.

What would you take out to add Sarkhan Unbroken if I wanted to netdeck and play this deck?

October 15, 2015 9:22 a.m.

Also, what about Woodland Wanderer?

October 15, 2015 9:26 a.m.

Hidden_Blade says... #24

Woodland Wanderer doesn't play as nicely with See the Unwritten, and Surrak gives his guys trample anyway. That said, Woodland is much better early, so its a tradeoff.
