This is my newest brew that I am toying with. I rarely play mono Red decks, but I really enjoy this list so far. I've gone as far as to get a friend of mine down to 8 or so life before I drew my first land. He was playing a Zendikar legal Caw-Blade deck, post-banning.

The deck tends to have very explosive hands. Chancellor of the Forge is insane in multiples, especially if you can Infernal Plunge away one token for a Goblin Chieftain turn 1 and swing for 4. I don't see anything wrong with putting my opponent on a 5 turn clock MAXIMUM before they play their first land.

Oh, Curse of Stalked Prey is insane turn 2 with all the turn 1 shenanigans that can happen.

I am considering finding room for a Koth or two, and possibly some dual lands for sideboard splashes once the community and I get this deck to a respectable level of playability. Maybe 1 more land mainboard?

Due to a lack of inspiration on new decks and a total disinterest in Magic at the moment, I decided to force myself to do a serious overhaul on the deck and try to get the consistency and dead draws out of the deck. I needed more artifacts in the deck to make the Rebirths more effective, so that was the main goal. Curse of Stalked Prey came out because it usually just cluttered my hand late game, but here are the changes:

  • -4 Goblin Grenade
  • -2 Burn at the Stake
  • -3 Curse of Stalked Prey
  • +2 Thunderous Wrath
  • +1 Dangerous Wager
  • +1 Faithless Looting
  • +2 Hellrider
  • +2 Chimeric Mass
  • +1 Panic Spellbomb
