Update control mechanics —Aug. 24, 2012
Changed a few things around. They may affect the consistency a little but some element of that will return with further refining.
Lightning Greaves is basically an auto include because it protects your general. Lurking Predators (better) and/or Call of the Wild (worse) would be pretty cool(and brutal) too.

Thanks, the main problem with with those is that I cant find them when I need them. For example card:Champion's Helm serves the same purpose as Lightning Greaves would but I can search for the helm with Drift of Phantasms so I get it if/when I need it. This is why most of my artifacts, enchantments and sorceries are 3 cmc.
As for the other two, this deck tries to be fun rather than too brutal ;-) Aluren would be in there otherwise, I can then cast Shrieking Drake to draw most of my library and play most of the creatures for free then with Thousand-Year Elixir I get all the mana I need and get an infinite mana combo then play Thornwind Faeries and with an infinite untap combo I kill each opponent. But as I said, Im trying to keep it fun.

Oblivion Stone would be a fetch-able mass removal spell with Drift of Phantasms if you needed it. You would also recover faster due to your general's ability to find creatures.
Game Preserve can be searched by Drift of Phantasms and is a lot less broken than the two mentioned before because it requires the other player to have a creature, put theirs into play too and can only activate during your upkeep.

Your right about Oblivion Stone in fact I put it in my deck a few weeks ago and aparently forgot to update this list lol.
Im not too sure about Game Preserve as it could help my opponent more than me. Djinn of Wishes seems like a better option.
Could you suggest any more permanent removal? This deck struggles with it and the AEthersnipe , Kederekt Leviathan and Oblivion Stone dont quite cut it.

Spell Crumple and Hinder both act for counter spells that can both tuck a commander into the deck or just put a card away for probably the rest of the game.
Beast Within should be a good card because 3/3s are a lot weaker at 40 life.
Turntimber Basilisk can sometimes kill other creatures.
card:Wren's Run Packmaster and Propaganda can certainly stall the game to find removal to.
Spin into Myth is another card that can do this but it cannot be searched by the transmuter.

I apreciate the counters but our group plays a rule that commanders can be returned to the command zone from the library to try to keep it more fun (or less tears), Beast Within might be a good choice or maybe Terastodon or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre Ill do some playtesting thanks.

The Terastodon turned out to be quite a good addition, there is usually no problem finding the 8 mana to cast it and with a bounce combo its a good way to shut down a game.

Quietus Spikes only works for COMBAT damage and thus is a no go for tap damage, such as from Thornwind Faeries.

I know. Its for the deathtouch ;-) Quietus Spike has more a bit utility than other things that give deathtouch. The deck has struggled for creature removal in the past although it has a nice balance now.
