This is an update of my favorite dragons deck for SOI, and it's performing pretty well, winning against over half the other SOI prototypes I'm testing against.
It's an interesting aggro-midrange-burn hybrid. The curve-topping dragons Thunderbreak Regent and Avaricious Dragon enable
Draconic Roar
to be one of the best burn cards in Standard, and they are very powerful in their own right.
Village Messenger
and
Zurgo Bellstriker
, along with pumps like Titan's Strength and
Call of the Full Moon
, enable you to get in some serious damage in the early game. Sometimes they're all it takes to win the game.
In the middle are
Scourge Wolf
and Sin Prodder.
Scourge Wolf
hardly ever sees turn 2 play, since there's usually something better to cast, like
Call of the Full Moon
or
Draconic Roar
. I'm considering opening up the slot for something else. With Delirium enabled and
Call of the Full Moon
enchanting it, though, it can be a finisher.
Sin Prodder is one of my favorites in this set. It provides much-needed card advantage, and he can force through damage. Even if he causes me to pitch a Mountain, by then I won't need it, and it puts a land toward Delirium!
Everything else fits right in. Exquisite Firecraft for damage to the face or taking out a Thought-Knot Seer, Roast for the same.
I'm thinking of including
Skin Invasion
because I'm usually removing the opponent's creatures every turn anyway.
