You don't need rares to have a good time.

Soulcatchers' Aerie is where the birds pick up their chicks, not to mention the reason you can get away with running all these disposable little twerps. It's pretty easy to tell your opponent to "flock off" when all your birds grow should one die. Chump-blocking was never so much fun, but why stop there? Stand up to PETA and take some target practice yourself. Don't pay the echo on Raven Familiar. Feed some doomed blocker to Seaside Haven. Or go with the seldom-played Mask of the Mimic, which replaces a sacrificed bird at Instant speed.

The one rare in residence is Cataclysm, which is an absolute bomb. Just hold a land in hand if possible, and then nuke all but one member of your air force, one land and a Soulcatchers' Aerie. Your opponent will be left with almost no means to recover against your giant winged monstrosity; you, of course, are one land away from playing just about every card in your deck.
