Dual Decks

Dual decks are my attempt to create a series of interesting casual decks, designed to be played against each other. The twist is that each dech is built using two separate creature tribes, and tied together with Maskwood Nexus which gives all creature types to all of your creatures. Each deck aims to show off both the strengths of its tribes, as well as a few famous MtG combo mechanics used in unusual ways. Each Dual deck is 61 cards, with the last card being an Un-card or playtest series card which is added for silliness, and can be removed if you prefer.

Summary

Phyrexian Humans starts out with small creatures but consistent card draw, and ends up with tremendous flexibility and power. It isn't typical for either Humans or Phyrexians, but does a good job of showcasing Azorius +1/+1 counters.

Opening hands

Card draw is very important: An opening hand without Suspicious Stowaway  , The Celestus, Gavony Dawnguard, or Firmament Sage may have a hard time. Once the deck starts drawing or looting, it can find what it needs for the mid/late game.

Combo Mechanic: Transforming Permaments

Norn's Inquisitor puts a counter on each permanent that transforms into a Phyrexian. With Maskwood Nexus, Suspicious Stowaway   and Brutal Cathar   are Phyrexians on both sides, so they get a +1/+1 counter whenever they transform back and forth.

Combo Mechanic: Day and Night

There was never much focus on Day/Night for Azorius, but the 4 cards that were printed are all quite effective. The Celestus is typically used to change to Night, and the cycle usually returns to Day on its own leading to plenty of triggers for your board. Heliod|Heliod, the Radiant Dawn also makes it easier to manipulate Day/Night cycles.

Small combo: Mystic Reflection + White Sun's Twilight

Phyrexian mites are nice, but why not get multiple Brutal Cathars  instead? Or multiple Firmament Sages...or multiple Darksteel Splicers? The board-wipe is just a bonus option, but a pretty good one when you have Incubator tokens that aren't creatures yet.

Small combo: Dollhouse of Horrors + Maskwood Nexus + Suspicious Stowaway

This combo wins stalled out games surprisingly often. A sudden 10/10 unblockable creature is great for breaking deadlocks.

Small combo: Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero + Maskwood Nexus

One of the strongest Dual Deck cards I've come across, Linn Sivvi gives you total access to the creatures in your deck. Creatures like Witch Enchanter   and Elesh Norn   make powerful options to bring out at instant speed. It's also worth noting that Lin has been errata'd to be a Human Rebel, even though no printing exists with this text. Note: You can't search for a Brutal Cathar and exile something when it's night, so be careful if you like to hold up Lin Sivvi as a threat.

Updates Add

Heliod and Leyline of Anticipation are $$ cheaper and more effective at controlling day/night cycles. Saga Norn may not be the best for flipping since this deck doesn't have lots of disposable creatures, but she's extremely powerful for Lin Sivvi to search for at instant speed.
