Maelstrom Wanderer is absolutely fantastic, usually hitting two Walkers. Even if it doesn't, you still hit two cards that you will enjoy on the board.

Horde of Notions is a great Commander to use due to his synergy with Maelstrom Wanderer.

Thanks for the suggestion iAzire, I have thought about maelstrom wanderer but never included him since I wanted to focus on the walker aspect of the deck. Though I might put him in and see how he does, I do love when I can get Maelstrom Nexus off!

With the inclusion Horde of Notions definitely adds a lot of value as the Commander. It allows you to cast Maelstrom Wanderer from your graveyard giving you as many Cascades as you can pay for.

Composite Golem + Nim Deathmantle creates infinite mana. Sacrifice Golem for the five mana, use four of that mana to use the Deathmantle ability. Rinse and repeat, producing one of whatever color you want each time you do it. This can create infinite mana of all five colors. Very helpful.

iAzire, its funny ever since I saw that commander I wanted to use him for his color combo but just determined that he had no use to the deck whatsoever. Now that you show me that combo with wanderer, he can be subbed into this deck as a commander.

I have never even see that golem and deathmantle combo before!!! I did not think there was a way to generated infinite mana for all colors but there it is.... and the nice thing is that they can both get got by Tezzeret the Seeker !! Man thanks so much for showing me this I am going to have to try it out!

Sure thing buddy. I think the best part about it is the cards themselves are relatively cheap. Maelstrom Wanderer is the most expensive. It is far below some of the other cards in the deck so I figured price wasn't much of an issue.

You can get the infinite combo for probably less than $6. Might be able to get the combo and the new Commander for less than $6 if you find a good deal.

Contagion Clasp, while a downgrade from the engine, gives you an early play, small creature removal, and an extra proliferate source, especially with Teferi, Temporal Archmage's -1 ability, adding 6+ loyalty to everyone every turn.

also try the Retreat cards from BFZ block, I run the Blue and Black ones in my bolas deck, with Ghost Town and all 5 on the field you get your choice of 5 out of 10 abilities every turn like tapping creatures, scry 1, making 1/1s, gaining life, +1/+1 to your team, +1/+1 counter to a cteature, +2/+0, +1/+0 and deathtouch, gain 2 life, everyone loses 1 life and you gain 1, target creature can't block. All incidental abilities, but doing them every time you play a land [1+ times a turn, more if you have Venser, the Sojourner flicker a land or 2, like the temples for more scrying...

Another card cycle to try are the Hondens from Kamigawa, individually they are ok, but if you can assemble Honden-Tron, you are drawing 5 cards Honden of Seeing Winds, gaining 10 Life Honden of Cleansing Fire , making 5 1/1 colorless spirits Honden of Life's Web, dealing 5 damage to anything Honden of Infinite Rage and making an opponent discard 5 cards Honden of Night's Reach. I run the red, black and blue ones in my Bolas deck and they do the business
