A while ago, I built an Angel deck around Archangel of Thune, which is naturally one of my favorite cards in existence but is also so expensive that I could feed my whole family for a week for the price of a playset. I keep looking for other ways to do something similar.

The idea of this deck is to just have lots of +1/+1 counters everywhere and to use Proliferate sources to really lean into them. Because I didn't have any truly efficient ways to convert lifegain into +1/+1 counters, I shifted into just getting them via mana or other means. This eventually led me away from Angels as a theme: +1/+1 support is found in much better quantities elsewhere.

The deck's biggest weakness is its comparative inability to get +1/+1s into play: Bolster and Outlast are all well and good, but they only take you so far. You start needing blanket sources like Gavony Township or Mikaeus, the Lunarch before any Proliferate source becomes valuable. That said, this deck still gets out of control fast.
