Hi Cajared and welcome,

As your relatively new to Magic, I'm going to start off by giving you some keywords that are relevant to artifact strategies, those are: Affinity, Metalcraft, Living Weapon, Improvise use the search here or on Gather to have a look at the cards. Another suggestion I'm going to make is that you splash for either Red or Black, not all cards that care about artifacts have those keywords, for example Goblin Gaveleer, Glaze Fiend or Glint Hawk but again you should be able to either use the search or look at other artifact/equipment based decks.

Another reason for me suggesting Red and Black is your plan to ping with deathtouch. Lots of Black creatures (Pharika's Chosen, Typhoid Rats) have deathtouch, lots of red creatures (Cunning Sparkmage, Grim Lavamancer, Embersmith) tap for damage or can easily cause damage.

Lastly I actually mess around with an equipment deck Cheap & Cherio built around Puresteel Paladin and Sram, Senior Edificer, while you may not want to go as all in on combo as that deck, it could give you some ideas.
