The current curve topper for turtle tribal is Angler Turtle, so to play into this:
Sudden Snappers
Instant
This spell costs less to cast if you control either a turtle with mana value 6 or greater or three or three or more nontoken turtle creatures.
Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt this turn. For each 1 damage prevented this way, create a 0/2 turtle creature token with evolve.
A little more turtle stuff would be massively appreciated.

Another commander of defenders? This time you want to use goad-like effects to strengthen your attack force (Angler Turtle is nice... plus an occasion where you want to cast Public Enemy on yourself...). Plus the commander itself is cheap enough to assure you'll always have her on the battlefield.
Make another 2-CMC commander.

Trove of Temptation and Angler Turtle seem useful in here. Also, how about Deflecting Palm as a way to punish opponents who actually dare attacking you?

I was just showing off the Turtle Tribal deck, but it didn't elicit the reactions I was hoping for:
"Why no Huatli?" ... "Because she's not a turtle." "Why no Arcades?" ... "Because he's not a turtle.", etc, etc.
Dragon Turtle looks promising, and sort of funny they're pairing "flash" with these slowpokes. Might be worth testing it out — as much as I love Angler Turtle , I don't think I've been able to cast him yet. The lower CMC might benefit the deck as a whole.

seshiro_of_the_orochi Excited to report that I've assembled the cards needed to put this deck together — got a playset of Angler Turtle in foil, and a bunch of Frog Lizard tokens on hand. Splurged and added in a few Waterlogged Grove and Hinterland Harbor to the mana base, and an additional Assault Formation to give those turtles some teeth! Cheers!

The process: At first I wanted to change Immersturm Predator (I really can't explain my fascination with that catd). After copying its text, I realized you don't have to exile a card to put the counter on it, which besides making it have Flample is what I wanted to change. So it already does what I thought it wouldn't do. Now I like it even more. This is how Angler Turtle entered the competition. This card ist just sooo cool, and yet nobody plays it. Well, this new version doesn't change a thing in 1v1 but makes it a lot better in multiplayer. Also, adding the Leviathan type makes it playable in seamonster decks.
This challenge is fun. Repeat, please.

Epicurus: There actually are some forced combat cards in these colours: Angler Turtle , Bident of Thassa , Alluring Siren , Dulcet Sirens , Siren's Call . Also, Spear of Heliod is a great card for that strategy, as is Settle the Wreckage . Especially Spear works beautifully with the design you came up with. Great job!
