FNM Report 3-1 At Comic Book Shop

FNM REPORT at the Comic Book Shop There was a slight change of plans. I was going to play the FNM at T and M cards, but a friend invited me to do hang out with them before and after FNM, and since they live close by the Comic Book Shop in the North Town Mall in Spokane WA, then thats where I played FNM at. it was a 42 man 4 round tourney. Round 1: 2-1 vs don't know what to call it. It was a 75 card, not well built, blue, green deck that self milled itself, until it got EPICALLY BIG Blue, green creatures, based on the number of creatures in his graveyard. Game 1. everybody finished game 3 of their 3 game matches while we were still on game 1. He Self milled, and then luckily got out 3 to 5 10/10 + non trample creatures. And I had out Mayors, and metamorph Mayors, huntmasters, and Nightfall predators,aand a LOT of wolf tokens out, and still couldnt kill his big creatures. It was a stand off. Finally when he made his 25/25's unblockable, and attacked, I lost. Game 2. I won extremely easily. Game 3 repeat of game 1, I won on turn 5 of a 5 turn clock. If I never play a deck like that again, it will be to soon. Match 2 lost 0-2 to Mr Bad Draw, Mr ultimate christmas draw, Mr Double mulligan, Mr Mulligan, and Mono black Zombie's Match 3: Beat Mr BYE 2-0 Match 4. won 2-0 vs your beating up my blue blighted Agent, proliferate, control deck game 1, so I am gona leave early and give you the whole match deck. He actually did ok game 1. it's just that his infect, and removal(which was effective), couldn't keep up with me. First he got rid of my Birds. Then he got rid of a Mayor. Then I got out and flipped a Mayor, and then Metamorph copied it. Then get got rid of my Mayor. Then I got out and flipped Daybreak ranger. Then I Metamorph copied it. Then he got rid of the Nightfall predator. Then I metamorph copied the metamorph copy of Nightfall predator, then he got rid of 1 of the 2 metamorph copies of nightfall predator. And during this time, I kept on killing his Blighted Agents, and Inkmoths. He quit when I had 1 4/3 metamorph copy of a flipped Mayor, 1 5/4 metamorph copy of Nightfall predator, 1 4/3 wolf token, 1 Full Moon's rise out, and him down to about 10 life, a 1/1 blocker, and me at 5 infect. So went 3-1 vs the field. But altho I went 3-1 vs the field, It really didn't tell me that much. I did see tho that there was 8 to 10 mono black Zombie decks, and a wide mix spread, range of other decks. Also I frequently got a wow, amazing comments, and compliments about my werewolf deck. Many were amazed that I could both either win by turn 4,5, and or keep on trucking win on turn 19. Many were impressed by how big my werewolves got. Many were impressed by the metamorphs. Many were impressed with my deck chandra reverberate Green Sun getting out 2 huntmasters at the same time, and chandra reverberating 2 Brimstone Volleys,

I also just now noticed this deck is 62 cards. Any recommendation of which two should be cut, if any, would be welcome.

Just got back from playing FNM and i got 5th out of 34 players...i chose not to play in the second FNM tonight due to a modern tourney tommorow...it doesn't end till 3am. Anyway, this deck went 4-1 and was close to going 5-0...oh well.

Took out the Solemns for 2 more Ponders. He isn't really helping all that much and I don't need the ramp. With the Ponders I can pull up one the big artifact creatures.

Ok, I ditched the Myrs and added 3 Dawntreader Elks, 3 Rampant Growths, 1 more Pristine Talisman, and 3 Manaliths. The deck is also 3 cards less now. Hopefully that will help.

Play 4 rounds, lost 3, won 1: Round 1: U/B control Had all my creatures countered, couldn't get any damage through and lost to grave titan both games. Round 2: Tempered steal Won 2:1 Out paced and swung for game by turn 4 or 5, lost one game to mana shortage. Round 3: R/G Wolf Run Ramp Lost 1:2 first game not sure what happened, got decent cards but game wasn't in my favor, second game went a little quicker and won, third game came down to very similar scenario but he had two more life than I could deal with. Round 4: Mono Black Control Lost 1:2 Kept losing creatures to effects, hard to a lot of damage through.

Took out Vault of the Archangel since i almost never use it. Added more color lands to prevent color screw.

Dropped the seachrome coasts. The price just doesn't balance out against the use I'll get out of them before they rotate.

Sideboard: -1 Bloodline Keeper: Really he only comes in as another wincon for other control decks to be forced to deal with. +1 Doom Blade: And he frees up space for when I need more straight-up kill instead of sweeper. (Pod) Maindeck: -1 Sorin Markov, -1 Charmbreaker Devils: Decided neither of them REALLY win the game all by themselves, but it really made me sad to take out the Devils. +1 Blue Sun's Zenith: Wins the game by itself, more card draw. +1 Sever the Bloodline: Kill spell that will kill at least two things, possibly more. Happens to be very good against Pod and Token decks, both of which are prevalent, and are things which the other cards in maindeck have a hard time against. -1 Blackcleave Cliffs, +1 Haunted Fengraf: Don't need Black/Red early, and the creature recursion lategame could be devastating. It means I can be a bit more aggressive with my creatures and cast them even into counters.

Also, I haven't playtested yet, but I want to find a way to make the land as unrestrictive as possible, this being a 4 color deck.

Added Skirsdag High Priest just to see if he works out, lots of expendable guys + vigilance seems like a good way to trigger his ability or at least stop opponents from attacking. Plus i don't have a lot of 2 MNC cards.

Geist-Honored Monk had to go, i like her but by the time she comes out i don't really need a huge creature, much rather have a repeatable way of creating tokens.

Also had to reduce by 1 Origin Spellbomb and Parallel Lives to make room.

Due to limited funds and availability of cards I can only afford to make one of these decks right now. I am asking you to help with that decision. Please help out either deck with suggestions/comments and then +1 the one you ultimately like more (or both if you like both) and I will end up making the one with the highest rating.
