Is Smash to Smithereens going to make its way to sideboard?

With the rising of artifacts, is Smash to Smithereens gonna see some play in most red sideboard? I think most / burn decks will side some to answer some niche like Orbs of Warding, but that's it.

I need some insight on this to prepare my artifact deck accordingly. Any thoughts?

It (at least in my meta) has already earned a spot in most red decks' sideboards due to the continued presence of Whip of Erebos and the return of Bident of Thassa. If Pyromancer's Goggles turns out to be a thing, I'd imagine some folks might be interested in smashing it as well.

I feel like Destructive Revelry at least pre rotation is just better yeah smash is easier to cast and deals 3 but revelry deals 2 which is fine and kills enchantments like courser so idk it could I guess but i just feel revelry is better

Most definitely. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure you can target a Darksteel Citadel with smash for the free 3 damage if you have to. I'm sure the brews of artifacts decks will be heavy these next few months. So they'll be worth the sideboard slots.

Nice insight guys.

And @Noble_Jimjam, no, you can't destroy Darksteel Citadel with Smash since it's indestructible, even if you control it.

Right. While you cannot destroy the citadel, you can still target it with smash to deliver three damage. It's the same situation with targeting an indestructible creature with a Rapid Hybridization. Is it efficient? Eh. lol depends on the situation.

Yes this works. Smash to Smithereens is not worded like say Searing Blood where the damage is contingent on something else occuring. If you really needed a Lava Spike you could target the Darksteel Citadel.

@Noble_Jimjam last Standard the interaction of Rapid Hybridization and indestructible creatures was key in some moments. I remember losing agains Mono-U Devotion with G/R Monsters because my opponent used the Hybridization on his own Thassa to block my Mistcutter Hydra. It was so good I wasn't even mad I lost.

Yes, it will at least definitely be played after Destructive Revelry cycles out. It's a conditional Lightning Bolt that can also take out artifacts, and only costs . All upside. True it can't hit enchantments but that's a common theme in red. I would put it as a 2-of in any sideboard that runs red.

EmblemMan they both are good, but not all red decks are going to be able to run revelry (I feel that this makes smithereens SLIGHTLY better in that any deck with red can sideboard it)
