what are the pro's and cons of the 2 lists?

Combo dredge (Dread Return) is weak to Counterspells. Gotta Cabal Therapy their hand away until it's safe.

If you're just flipping cards to feed Ichorid and reaping Bridge from Below's Zombie tokens, it will be hard for most decks to interact with you. Slow and steady wins the race.

That being said I prefer combo. I even fox around with Flayer of the Hatebound to throw 20+ damage without attacking.

Combo Kill that is hindered by permissive interaction but is faster. Aggro game that ignores counter magic but takes 1-2 turns to "go off".

So basically the difference is pretty much an "oh s**t" button?

The Dread Return dredge can be alot more of a consistent finisher (coupled with Balustrade Spy it can be damn quick, susceptible to counters though). The way alot of decks keep this interaction safe is Force of Will running along with things like Whirlpool Rider and of course Narcomoeba.

Some great tech though to help hate out some aggro/counters is Chancellor of the Annex to shut out opening plays

Even the token variant can abuse Dread Return using Flame-Kin Zealot.

Some lists run a set Gemstone Mine/Undiscovered Paradise to run Bloodghast to help bridge triggers and Flayer of the Hatebound antics

Running the lands always opens up counterspells as well

Interesting.

No worries.

Are the two lists even that different? A Dread Return dredge list will have like one return and one target. I don't know if a two card difference warrants the classification as two separate decks.

Baltec i'm not saying that, but they are classified as "varients"

Dread Return is just too good not to play. The important thing is you can sacrifice Bloodghasts and Ichorids to get those Bridge from Below triggers. Even if Dread Return doesn't resolve, you just shit out 3 or more 2/2s.

Getting a Griselbrand or Flame-Kin Zealot is just the icing on the cake.
