Ways of abusing High Priest of Penance win Pestilence

Hi, I'm running a Pestilence deck (Frozen Pestilence) using Stuffy Doll , but until now it has proven to be too slow.
I was thinking of using High Priest of Penance and trying to make him indestructible to abuse his ability with Pestilence . One way would be tu use Indestructibility , but it costs 4 mana, and would slow my game.
Is there any other card I could use to achieve the same effect? Maybe using Conviction could make High Priest of Penance resistant enough for me to destroy my enemies permanents with Pestilence .
Any other idea?

Although Gift of Immortality would work, you won't get more than one use out of pestilence per turn. Perhaps a cheap toughness-boosting equipment would help? I'm just throwing poo at the wall to see what sticks.

does it need to be indestructible or does it just need to take a few Pestilence hits a turn without dieing? could you just give it a fat butt with something cheap like Accorder's Shield (for re useability), or something along the lines of Divine Favor ?

This is off topic sorta of but what if someone used The Mimeoplasm and made it a copy off High Priest of Penance then have+1/+1 counters equal to a creature like Colossus of Akros or another huge creature lol

Darksteel Plate , Shield of Kaldra , That Which Was Taken , and Eldrazi Monument are the only other things I can think of off the top of my head.
Pariah and Pariah's Shield would both work with your theme, so there you go.
