need help finishing deck

Deck Help forum

hey fellas, so i am in the midst of making a modern legal deck that will be primarily used for casual play. There is a chance that i take it to some local competitive events, so it definitely needs to stay modern legal.

the cards i want to include in it so far are as follows:

Doomed Traveler x 4, Lingering Souls x 2, Tidehollow Sculler x 4, Blood Artist x 3, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad x 2.

i need to finish out the rest of the deck, and would like to add some sac outlets that do not require mana to activate. Viscera Seer is the only one i can think of that is modern legal in those colors. I do not mind splashing another color, just need to thin it down to either junk, or jund.

put on your brewing hats, and help me finish this deck out please.

Auriok Champion is basically invincible to 95% of spot removal! and he gives you life, and he is an amazing blocker. Use him.

For the love of god, use 4 Lingering Souls . If I could make a deck with 38 Lingering Souls , I would. . . Ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it is not an exaggeration that lingering souls is fucking ridiculously powerful and should be used in almost any modern deck running white and black.

Intangible Virtue is awesome, so is Honor of the Pure .

Zealous Persecution is sort of a must have as well! it's just too good to not use in tokens.

Path to Exile is a modern staple, it should definitely be a 4 of in any white modern deck aside from maybe aura-hexproof. But that's beside the point.

4 Windbrisk Heights is literally REQUIRED to make a tokens deck competitive in modern, it's that good.

I have a tokens deck on my account that you can check out, here's the link. I can't remember who won with that deck or how well he did, but I know that's tier quality after testing it a whole bunch in my spare time.

The inspiration for the deck comes from legacy zombardment, which I think I can make a modern version for, just need to figure out a few kinks

Can you post a link to the deck that inspired you? I'm curious as to what zombardment actually is.

When I first saw this my first thought that it was a melirapod variant from your need of a sack outlet. I'll have to check out those articles as well. And Tiktacy, a token deck doesn't need Windbrisk Heights or Zealous Persecution . They are both amazing with a token deck, but I have a competitive token deck myself that doesn't run either. Although I have wanted to find a spot for Zealous Persecution for a while to be honest.

It needs windbrisk heights in the same way that UWR control needs Celestial Colonnade . ZP not so much, as you can use other things in its place that are similarly powerful.

Tiktacy, Windbrisk Heights is optional for bw tokens. It really isn't necessary. I have played tokens for well over a year. They are certainly good in the right deck, but having tried them, I didn't like them as much.

So is Celestial Colonnade in UWR control, but it's still used by every deck of that type that makes a top 8.

I stand corrected, some decks make the top 8 using Vault of the Archangel instead of windbrisk.

However, the best decks in past GP's and pro tours use Windbrisk Heights , so I think that reflects it's abilities as a card much more than the a few recent MTGO tournaments.
