What Commander best utilizes Mana Crypt?

Commander (EDH) forum

I've been thinking of doing an artifact-themed EDH deck for a while, and I managed to snap up a nice looking judge promo Mana Crypt for relatively cheap recently, so it got me thinking.

What Commander(s) can best utilize it as a synergistic card? (aside from Arcum Dagsson. I want people to actually play with me.)

Well I guess any commander. Seriously it's just a good card. You could use Jhoira of the Ghitu, and have it as a suspend per turn for almost free.

Kozilek, Butcher of Truth or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre would love it as a way to produce mana.

dbpunk: Okay, fair. I was more asking from a synergy/flavor standpoint.

Uhh... It's good in any commander deck, really. If I had to say one, I'd pick Brago, King Eternal since he can flip it back up and most strategies with him revolve around aggressively denying mana and locking down the board. I run him and Mana Crypt and Mana Vault are absolutely insane under a Stasis.

It's arguably the best mana rock in EDH. Just throw it in a deck and it'll do wonders.

If you wanna be able to get rid of it, Daretti, Scrap Savant says hello!

Brago, King Eternal allows you to jtap it twice each turn because when you blink it out, it re-enters the battlefield untapped.

Mana Crypt is one of the most expensive card in a Storm type Nekusar, the Mindrazer deck. It allows you to play him T3 and start comboing into lethal damage via his ability with the right opening hand. Just play all the wheel effects and all the red spells where you pay mana to get more mana. I've been dealt 47 damage from drawing cards because I didn't Supreme Verdict T4 and trust me I learned the hard way that even in a 100 card EDH deck Storm-Nekusar ain't nothing to mess with.

Of course getting Daretti, Scrap Savant onto the field T1 with Sol Ring + Mana Crypt is always an amazing thing to do.

well SYNERGY-wise... Mana Crypt would work very well in a Coin-Flip deck. AKA, a deck with red, haha. Look up on a card-search engine card that include the text "flip a coin" and make an edh deck around it. Have fun!

Well any general with synergy towards high costed artifacts may work flavorwise. Honestly a general or general may work best. I'd say for coin flipping.
