have you thought about spoils of the vault

Including that would raise the Average CMC to about .06667. That is not going to happen. We have our "Kill Spells" in our opening hand consistently enough. We can mulligan to 1 after all. Besides... how would we cast it?

I love your video, it's hilarious! Just one question, why do you want to make a deck that loses instantly?

Hilarious. Lol. Nice deck +1. Would you mind upvoting my St Traft Azorius Control?

Im "religiously" an edh player but i do enjoy watching other formats and looking at the decks. This deck reminds me of times i decided to say hell with it if i die im gonna give the biggest threat a helping hand. I'll give them an aura or something XD i +1 this.

I'm pretty sure that only Intervention Pact, Pact of the Titan, and Summoner's Pact actually guarantee a first turn loss. Pact of Negation and Slaughter Pact require targets, which you might not necessarily get on turn 1 (although if you were to take this to FNM, a turn 1 creature from your opponent certainly wouldn't be uncommon).

With that aside, +1 for what is possibly the most consistent deck I have ever seen on this site.

Doesn't life gain make it harder to lose? Fountain of Youth and Claws of Gix still seem too powerful.

This needs some Ornithopters to allow for the broken T1 "Ornithopter - Slaughter Pact" opening. Plus, you could beat your opponent to death with your consistent zero power per turn!

Also, you will always have a target for Pact of Negation: counter one of your own spells. It just won't lose on Turn Zero.

Orochi Hatchery makes 1/1s. 1/1s can win. take it out.. .. ..

August 24, 2016 7:32 p.m.

@Clockwurk: I have a lot of mana to do things like that....

How would you recommend making a budget version of this deck, so that even a poor, broke soul like I can experience the joy of losing on T0?

August 25, 2016 5:31 p.m.

@Daedalus19876: Run Pact of the Titan, Intervention Pact, and cheap cantrips.

Can I ask why you would ever want to make a deck that can lose ?

August 25, 2016 7:12 p.m.

Shane.Allen, I assume you also enjoy making decks that can lose. However, making a deck that purposely loses is a different story. For me, losing is such a fulfilling experience that I want to ensure that I can fail whenever I choose.

Shane.Allen: Then clearly you don't do it frequently enough! All things in moderation ;)

needs Gitaxian Probe to increase odds of having pact T1, replace Orochi Hatchery which could let you win if you gain mana from your opponent
