Weird idea I had. I'm sure it's been done before, but here's my take on the concept. Not only is this deck lacking in Land, it's lacking in mana completely!
Step one is to summon as many 0-drop Artifacts and Artifact Creatures as possible. Ornithopter,
Memnite
, Darksteel Relix, Spellbook, [[Tormod]s Crypt]] and Welding Jar are these, and with 4 copies of each in the deck, we have 24 options for guaranteed free-drop cards.
Scale of Chiss-Goria
,
Tooth of Chiss-Goria
, and Frogmite quickly become free-to-play cards with this system. With some luck,
Foundry Assembler
and
Will-Forged Golem
can also be free drops on the first turn, with
Myr Enforcer
and
Barricade Breaker
becoming easy drops on the second turn and on. Once everything you want out is out, send 3 of the more useless or redundant artifacts away for a nice turn 1
Salvage Titan
. If the opponent doesn't have any 1-drop creatures in their opening hand, we can easily deal 10+ damage on our second turn just by attacking!
Now for a bit of support. Convoke for a nice power boost to some of our creatures with Obelisk of Urd. Pay 2 life to use Mutagenic Growth for some extra power, Noxious Revival to reclaim any cards we want back, or Postmortem Lunge with an X of 0 to bring back an Ornithopter or
Memnite
from the graveyard. Now it's time for the kill, but the opponent has just one too many creatures out to seal the deal. Let's take a risk with Slaughter Pact, killing one of their creatures with the knowledge that, if we don't win this turn, we lose the game at our next upkeep. Play with caution and care.
Any and all suggestions and feedback are welcome and hugely appreciated!
