Here is my interpretation of how dark depths should be played. It's basically a fling the dark depths in mono black with lotus petal and dark ritual as the key enablers and rite of consumption and essence harvest as the finishers.
the deck is a bit unreliable sometimes, so it could need some help to get the combos off more smoothly.
turn 1 win:
1) play dark depths
2) play lotus petal, sac for +B
3) play dark ritual -B, get +BBB
4) play entomb -B, search for hexmage or thief
5) play reanimate -B, remove all counters from dark depths, get a 20/20 token
6a) play another lotus petal, sac for B, play rite of consumption -BB on the token for the kill
or:
6b) play another dark ritual -B, get +BBB, play essence harvest -BBB on the token for the kill
Another turn1 win:
1) play dark depths
2) play lotus petal
3) play dark ritual
4) cast hexmage, sac it to remove all counters on dark depths, get a 20/20 token
5a) use the remaining B in the mana pool to cast dark ritual, play essence harvest, kill
or
5b) play another lotus petal, play rite of consumption, kill
Turn 2 win:
1) play dark depths
end the turn
2) play vesuva, copy depths, sac depths, vesuva has 0 counters on it and sacs itsself for the 20/20 token
3) play lotus petal
4) play dark ritual
5) play either rite or harvest, kill
Even if you dont get the right hand, if you somehow manage to pull the combo off you'll be able to attack with a 20/20 flyer or with an 11/11 flyer, strong enough on it's own.
