"Crumbling Confidence" (Ally Mill/Lifegain)

Casual Budget Lifegain Mill Multiplayer Tribal WU (Azorius)

HalbrechtHalbrecht

This is an Ally deck, which focuses on milling via card draw and Ally drops.

Win Conditions

There are five win cons, in the following order:

  1. Mill opponents via Halimar Excavator exploitation.
  2. Mill opponents via mass card draw and Jace's Erasure.
  3. Kill opponents via mass card draw and Psychosis Crawler.
  4. Kill opponents via direct attack with one or more huge Psychosis Crawlers.
  5. Win directly via Laboratory Maniac.

Halimar Excavator Exploitation

There are 16 allies in the deck (4 each of Halimar Excavator , Sea Gate Loremaster , Jwari Shapeshifter, and Ondu Cleric ), but several other methods increase our profits:

  1. Mitotic Manipulation helps get multiples of key allies out quickly.
  2. Flicker effects from Ghostly Flicker and Cloudshift can be devastating -- a Ghostly Flicker with 4 Halimar cards or clones out and four other allies out mills 64 cards at once (2 triggers per each of the 4 Halimars, at 8 cards per trigger).
  3. Join the Ranks can be equally as devastating as Ghostly Flicker, as well as providing early blockers if necessary.
  4. Making copies through Followed Footsteps.

Card Draw

Compared to the first version of this deck, card draw has been greatly downplayed. However, it can still win the game. Sea Gate Loremaster can draw you tons of cards (for "free"), giving you lots of options, and Reliquary Tower/ Spellbook lets you keep them in hand. You can hurt your opponents at the same time if you have Jace's Erasure and/or Psychosis Crawler out. I have mass-killed with two Loremasters and two Crawlers.... And the huge hand-size will make the Crawler a formidable creature. If you do too much card draw, Laboratory Maniac can win the game.

Staying Alive

The deck fixed a major issue with the previous: I died too quickly! With white added in, the deck has access to amazing lifegain potential with Ondu Cleric. The same flicker and Join the Ranks shenanigans that cause crazy amounts of mill also gain you crazy amounts of life.

Although the primary function of flicker is to retrigger the allies, it is also good for defense, as it can remove blockers from combat.
