My friend just recently got me into magic and I decided to go for single color for my first deck. Played with it some versus a red aggro deck with a friend (both standard), and won most of the time. A few times I decided to keep my hand with only 1 mana and didn't draw enough quickly, and lost because I was against an aggro deck.

So one tip for this deck is play with at least 2 mana in your starting hand but if you draw 3 its hard to lose. Once you get to 4 mana thats when I felt the control of the game was completely in my hands. This deck operates off a lot of 2 and 4 mana cards so if you can get 4 mana out you're pretty golden. My favorite card would have to be Citadel Siege (khans choice) and every time I have gotten it out I won.

Would love for any suggestions and tips. Since I am new I am not sure how good this is but I like it and its super cheap. And if you want link your standard decks in the description because I would love to check them out. I am really enjoying Magic so far and love the community, and I am looking forward to competing with others. :)

So I faced a mono green deck and I faired very well against it. It was close for the matches we played but because of valorous stance it shut anything strong he could get out down. I might side board 2 of those so 4 overall when playing versus green, but overall the matches we played were definitely in my favor. Looking forward to hopefully this week test it out at FNM and see how it fares.
