About This Deck: Mill your opponent out while locking our opponents out of the game with mass counterspells such as Didn't Say Please , Thought Collapse , and Drown In Loch. Drown In Loch also serves as removal as well. The reason why we don't run more removal is because we're relying on one of our 12 counterspells to always be in our hand to counter anything our opponent could play. Merfolk Secretkeeper and Overwhelmed Apprentice serve as more mill while also netting us a body on the field. Overwhelmed Apprentice also gives us some complimentary scrying, while Merfolk Secretkeeper acts as a nice wall. Another body on the field is Vantress Gargoyle , which serves as a pretty nice alternate win condition. He'll almost always be enabled due to our pretty consistent card draw along with our heavy focus on mill. Speaking of card draw, our Opt , Into the Story , and Folio of Fancies serve as our main source of card advantage in this deck. Folio of Fancies also serves as pretty good mill against decks which, like ours, which rely heavily on card advantage. Thought Erasure just serves as a good way to see what's in our opponent's hands while also giving us a free surveil. Our Mystic Sanctuary serves as a pretty easy way to get our draw spells and counterspells back to our hands.

Upgrading The Deck: The easiest way to upgrade this deck is to tack on 4 Watery Grave 's, but those are $12.50 a pop, so in the name of keeping the deck $25, I decided to nix them. Other than that, I can't think of anything else for this deck that would be a straight upgrade. If you're not so much a fan of counterspells, you could ditch them for more removal, but then you love the free mill 3 of Didn't Say Please and Thought Collapse . Everything else is really just personal preference.
